Well it won't be the first ST film based mostly on Earth. Of course, if it's about a boy/young man Kirk first joining Starfleet, then it's obvious that you will see such things.
I love Lost. His movies however are fecking awful.
The trailer looks alot like Thunderbirds.... I watch Star Trek now and again. Can't say i'm the biggest fan but it can be good at points, however JJ really should have noted how popular Battlestar Galactica has been and followed that same formula. Instead he's made the Episode 1 of Star Wars, its going to flop, big time.
But at least Syler is Spock, that should be pretty interesting.

Saw a long trailer of it the other day when I went to see Yes Man. Looks pretty damn good.
I'm afraid this is going to be another disappointment. Movie are not for Star Trek IMO
