Melbourne Red
Still hasn't given Rain Dog another chance
After years of avoiding the radio and paying absolutely no regard to new bands I've turned over a new leaf. No more trawling through second hand stores and discount bins for Bowie albums or Dylan or Elvis Costello.
During the last week I've explored stuff by the Fleet Foxes, Vampire Weekend, Cut Copy, Bonnie Prince Billy, Cut Copy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Camera Obscura and Andrew Bird and it's restored my interest in new music.
Camera Obscura have been a particular stand out. Lush strings, textural guitars, delicate vocals, absolutely magnificent. Vampire Weekend also have some of the best riffage I've heard for a while.
Anyone who tries to claim there's no good music left simply hasn't bothered to look for it.
On that note, any album recommendations to add to the above would be welcome.
