Yes, it's back, and it looks amazing. Jery Ryan from ST:Voyager is also here:

Dude, Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet

It's actually just a pitch rather than an actual trailer. Like what Rodriguez did for Sin City.

I like it. We've had a cheesy fun Mortal Kombat before... A modern 'noir' approach could be fecking badass.

Its a well made trailer but its not what I'd want from a Mortal Kombat film, I'd rather something like the 90s film.

Who was the original Sonya Blade? She was very feckable.

I hated James Remar in the second one, but like him in most other things.

Whilst I liked the 90s version... I don't know if remaking it in the same vain would be a good idea. I mean it will just end up being another generic game adaption with little imagination... An approach like this offers something new.

Why do people ever even think that it's a good idea to make a movie on the premise of a videogame? In the vast majority of cases, the plots and story lines of video games are total crap, at best they barely touch B movies.

There could be a few good ones, but obviously beat em ups arent likely to make good films because you have to change how things are in the game. It cant just be a film about one on one fights with weird looking guys, they always try to add loads of the other characters and to tie them all in to the main storyline, and they have to change the single player storylines, which fans of the game are rarely going to like.

Other games with already strong storylines and characters could make good films. For example Metal Gear Solid. Resident Evil could have been a lot better too.

Looks good, I wanted more flashbacks to the crazy bastards, they were enjoyable.
