"New" manager to sign Di Canio in the summer?

some players and some deals just never go away with Fergie...he continues to toy with them like a dog with an old bone.

As long as he's United manager certain players like Di Canio, Desailly, Batistuta will continue to fascinate him and the deals wil never truly be buried.

If Fergie is United manager next season as looks likely I'm sure the Di Canio deal will be back on and he will once again court Desailly.

Ooh... I'm not so sure. He isn't going to overflood the team with older players. He could have gone for Di Canio and forgot about Forlan couldn't he? But went for the younger one first.

Looks like Ayala and Hofland will be on their merry ways to OT in the summer if Fergie stays. ;)

I think Fergie is well capable of "flooding" the team with older players. I think there is a strong, strong chance of Desailly signing for United next season. Even Ayala is no spring chicken...but I still suspect given the choice, Fergie would take Desailly over the Argentinian.

As for Forlan...United had to act quickly remember, not to lose out to Boro. I'm sure Fergie went for him assuming that Yorke would defintely take the hint freeing up the money for Di Canio.

Di Canio meant more to Fergie than Forlan.

Well...football as with life, things don't always fall so neatly into place.

But if there is one thing we can be sure of, Fergie once bewitched by a player will never let the idea of signing him die.

Age isn't an issue with Fergie...Blanc has proved that.

My predictions are Desailly instead of Ayala and Hofland.

Barthez to stay...but Fergie to sign a strong challenger for his position (the Bolton keeper?).

Becks to sign.

Veron after strong interest from Italy and Spain will stay but this is a close call.

I think there will be a formal bid for Batistuta at some stage.

Roy Keane will leave on a Bosman after next season.
