New Loans

Looks like there will be some short term loans going on over the next week or so....

Latest rumour is Richie De Laet to Sheffield United on a three-month deal.

Makes sense for a month at least, as there are no reserve team games after Monday night until November, so the reserve team players who are too old for the academy (Eikrem, Evans etc) will either have to force themselves into the first team or sit kicking their heels for a few weeks.

Peter Reid was in attendance last night so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a move in the offing to Plymouth for one of the players.

I believe that there is a 1 month gap between the Blackburn game on Monday to the next reserve game so it was mentioned in the commentary that loans would probably be used to give the players some match time.

I think its high time we send Eikrem out on loan..

Nicky Ajose's joined Bury for a month, on the bench for them today.

CONOR Devlin, a 19-year-old Northern Ireland youth international goalkeeper, has moved to Hartlepool United on loan from Manchester United.

With regular No 1 Scott Flinders and his deputy Andy Rafferty sidelined through injury, Pools now have two loan keepers.

Jake Kean moved from Blackburn before Flinders' injury and Devlin has moved as cover.

He will be on the bench against Carlisle this evening after playing for Manchester United's reserve side against Blackburn last night.

Oliver Gill and Reece Brown have both joined Div 2 side Bradford City on loan until 25th October.

We may see any couple go out soon. Maybe Wooton, Evans and Eikrem. There are no reserves games untli 2nd Nov so this all makes sense. Be interesting to know if they were scheduled like this on purpose.

So that explains why the Reserves rearranged fixtures to leave Oct free; Norwood, De Laet, Ajose, Devlin, Gill and Brown all on 4 week loans

Wootton to Tranmere:

Tranmere Rovers have today completed the loan signing of defender Scott Wootton from Manchester United.

Wootton, 19, joins Rovers on a month long emergency loan. The Birkenhead-born centre back was in Tranmere's Centre of Excellence until the age of 13 before being sold to Liverpool. He signed for United three years ago and captained their under-18 team last season. He has been a regular in United's reserve team this season.

Manager Les Parry said: "I'm pleased to be able to bring Scott to the Club.

"He's a highly rated young defender and with Marlon Broomes and Ash Taylor injured and Jermaine Grandison picking up an injury just before the end of his loan spell it was important we brought a player of his quality into the Club.

"I'd like to thank Manchester United for allowing him to come to us for a month."

Scott will be available for Tranmere's home game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, 2 October, kick off 3pm.

I can see Evans and Eikrem going.

Not sure on Brady due to his history with injuries.

I don't think Obertan will because he is a first teamer really.

I think Vermijl is still settling in, so he may not go out.

I could be wrong, but can't a certain amount of over-aged players play for the academy? I seem to remember Gill turning out for them last season.

Eikrem, Evans and Obertan will probably be involved in the Carling Cup squad, hence why they wouldn't go.

I think Brady just needs games so would have thought he'd go out. I'd agree re Vermijl.

You can play overage players in the Academy but not much need as there is already a good sized squad and Morrison will drop back in I'm guessing.

I guess Vermijl may drop into the academy for a game or two in the next month.
