Ryan Reynolds* will play Hal Jordan, although the role was previously offered to Chris Pine from Star Trek (my preferred choice).

Also starring Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), Mark Strong (Kick Ass, Sherlock Holmes, Robin Hood), Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett.

Film is scheduled to be released in 2011.

*Ryan Reynolds also played the Marvel character Deadpool in Wolverine: Origins, and will star in his own spin-off movie called by the same name.

Anyone else reckon we might see a Justice League movie in the horizon?

Apparently a Deadpool movie is in the works as well

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively seem like very off casting choices for this. Could be quite shit.

Nah, you're thinking of the new Green Hornet movie - which has Seth Rogen in it

I saw the sets for this during a sony studios tour in LA last summer. I missed seeing Seth Rogan by about 5 mins. We did meet Matt Dillon though.

I remember walking through Boston airport a few years ago, and being held up on a skywalk by some filming. We waited for a few minutes before a Bostonian lady got pissed off and just barged through at which point everyone went. As I walked past I looked at the set to see what was happening and saw a bunch of cameras, people standing around, and on the back of the chairs "The Departed" printed. I thought, "never heard of it, probably some straight to video shit" and wondered off to look around duty free. Bollocks

Oh i wont...but it's tiresome that studios, directors, actors and money that could be used for new, innovative, original films are just being plunged into yet another Superhero film..it's fecking overkill, and is actually affecting the market as a whole. It's a shame...but geek out all you want.

They're looking for the next gravy train, this does ok and they have 50 years of back catalogue of ready made plots they can turn into sequels. The most innovative stuff in terms of drama and plot is on TV now.

There's also far superior comics out there they could do, although again I'd prefer they put them into a tv serial, The sandman, the brilliant Preacher. At least Death the High cost of living is in the early stages.
