From the BBC:
Manchester United have invited Neale Cooper to Old Trafford for a coaching stint following his resignation as Ross County manager.
As a player Cooper starred under Sir Alex Ferguson at Aberdeen for seven successful seasons.
And the offer from his old boss came just minutes after completing the paperwork that saw him released from the Highland club.
"I was walking downstairs with a tear in my eye when my mobile phone rang and I could hardly believe who it was," revealed Cooper.
"He didn't actually know I had resigned.
"When I told him, he said I should have a break, get a bit of sunshine and then come along and coach at Old Trafford for a while.
"It's a nice offer, although I'd stress it isn't a job offer.
"I do plan to have a break but I will take him up on it sooner rather than later."
Meanwhile, County have set a deadline for Friday 22 November for applications to replace Cooper.
Coach Danny MacDonald will take temporary charge of the team with Ronnie Duncan.
Wonder what he sees in this coach? Motivator?
