IT is believed that nesta will turn down a move to United for inter and I find that really sad as inter have failed to impress at all lately and he would be wasted there. With united he would be a regular and play european football which he would miss with inter!!! :eek:

Inter are having the best season in 12 years, top of Serie A with 7 games to go.

Under Hector Cuper, they are on the way to being a strong european side, joint top of serie A with roma at the moment and in the quarter finals of the uefa cup.

Its a shame he wont be coming to O/T, because he is world class, but never fear according to recent reports ayala will be hear! ;)
 
I'm not a proponent of buying him. He's Lazio through and through and doesn't seem like someone who would blossom in the Premiership. His heart just wouldn't be in it for us. Furthermore, we could buy both Emerton and Tudor for about the same price as Nesta would go for.

agree with this .... although i haven't seen Emerton play ?

But TUDOR would be a great signing IMO, i really hope JUVE are stupid enough to sell.
As for NESTA i don't think he would have the hunger and fight for the prem could you imagine him at a freezing cold, rain soaked away fixture at BURNLEY (could happen) next season ?

Rumours as usual are circulating that we have signed Thuram.If its true i would like to get either one of Ayala,Hofland,Tudor.Or 2 of the 4 players to form a cb pairing.Nesta is a class defender if i call it that way but he's not tough enough for prem,the same with Cannavaro.G Nevilles form has been good for the last months so i think we really need a left defender to put pressure on Silvestre so he stops doing the defensive mistakes.

Links re: thuram? Unlikely imo since we decided against him last summer due to the cost for his age factor.

He was overpriced considering his age, and now he is a year older, but I doubt his price will have significantly lessened.

I'd imagine that they would let him go, before they let the likes of Tudor go - mainly due to the age factor, but also becase Tudor seems to be blossoming at the moment.
 
Thuram is unhappy at playing rb at Juve.They have Montero,Tudor,Iuliano and Ferrara at cb too.And they are trying to get Cannavaro.
 
I would definitely go for Tudor if possible, although again, I stress United should inquire about Samuel, Chivu and Mexes. Nesta is a class CB, and would be great in the PL I would say, for he is fast, brilliant tackling and would be used to the fact that United`s defense usually gets hit with odd man rushes.
 
AYALA is my pick, that guy is so feckin hard, we need a rock in the centre of our defence!

I agree, my only worry about him is how many penalties he'd give away - in La Liga they seem to get away with murder. But he's as hard as they come and would suit the premiership.

I dont really mind who SAF buys in the summer. Just expect some big signings. We just need a CB and a LB. Chivu is ideal
 
I saw Samuel for th 1st time the other night and was really impressed. Him and Ayala/Tudor/Chivu/Mexes I think would be an excellent pairing, he looks to me like he can play with anyone.
 
Ayala would be fantastic. Didn't he commit long term to Valencia recently though ? And whats his passport status ?

A few but mainly extended highlights. From the what i've seen, he's been poor in many matches this season.. certainly not upto his standards.

BTW..rome 5-1 lazio... ;)

(he was awful in that match too) ;)

Have to agree with that....Emerton is great...seen him play often cos they show all Feynoord Matches live in SA...

samual would be my pick too, but i cant see roma letting go of him, unless we gave them ruud or becks <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

i think ayala is a rock also, but he's what, 29-30?

hope blanc stays another season and ronny signs a one yr extension so both of them can help mexes along :cool:
 
Kenyon and Fergie seem to have conflicting views on signing older players. Kenyon made comments to the effect that we wouldn't be looking at players over 30 last year, and Fergie just said Johnsen is 'only 32', which would seem to indicate the opposite.
