Is he good enough for United?
Someone called Crerand's show and mentioned him.
Haven't seen loads but always been decent when I have.

Was linked to Newcastle a while ago, has looked good during the tournament.

Never knew he was at City in his youth.

Decent player. Not good enough for United.

Oh and wrong forum.

Funny isn't it, after watching him in four games I am have not really been that impressed by him, in fact I would say he is a weak link in team GB.

The area where Team GB is weakest is defence, especially in the centre. Taylor hasn't played badly but he lacks the sort of footballing intelligence a United fullback must have. Plays the game in straight lines, always looks to take the obvious option rather than the best. Fortunately for him and team GB sometimes those two choices are identical but when they're not it all breaks down. He's not gonna be the next Denis Irwin IMHO.

Made a poor challenge in the box when a cross came in which should've been a pen imo but the commentators said it was great work from him.

Don't think he is being done any favours by being asked to play RB when he is a left back for Swansea, think he has played well but not United level yet, give him a few years experience and who knows. Tidy player though.

Manchester United could switch their attention to Swansea's Neil Taylor in their search for cover at left-back.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson needs back-up for Patrice Evra, after allowing Fabio Da Silva to join QPR on a season-long loan.

Ferguson had hoped to land Leighton Baines, but has been put off by Everton's £20million asking price for the England star.

Although buying Baines has not been written-off by United, Taylor - who played for Great Britain at this summer's Olympics - has emerged as an alternative target at his position.

The price is wrong: United will not pay Everton £20m for Baines
Chris Brunskill

The £5million-rated youngster missed just two Premier League games for Swansea last season and has developed into a solid left-back.

A move to United would cap an extraordinary rise for the 22-year-old, who was playing non-league football at Wrexham just three years ago.

Taylor was linked with Newcastle last summer but decided to stay at Swansea, where he has grown in stature and reputation.

I've been thinkin for a while now that we could do a lot worse for a squad player. Good player, young, homegrown, affordable, would fit in with our style of play, and provide cover at left and right back where we're light, meaning hopefully that we dont have to play centre halfs there. Would be much better value than Baines and could go on to be a better player, or at least as good.

I thought he was generally okay for GB but at fault for a few things too which would concern me. I think he's a mid table player at this point.
