Need help on Emulators

Right so.....

I have been meaning to do this for ages, but every time I tried I got seriously confused.

I want to play the old Monkey Island games and I have been told you can download the ROM (game) but you need an Emulator.

Can someone point me in the right direction regarding this one. If Monkey Island was on the PC then do I need an Emulator ? Which Emulator works best ?

I had this game on the Amiga 500. Came with about 7 floppy disks
 
How do I download that torrent ? I am useless when it comes to torrents. I clicked on "Download this Torrent" and it saved very quickly to my desktop
 
Trying to download the torrent myself because I just remembered what incredible games these were but currently getting no seeds or peers. I'll try and find a better one.

I assume you have a BitTorrent client?

Something like utorrent or vuze?

:lol: Looks like this might be a bit of a hassle after all.

You need to download a BitTorrent client in order to download torrents. Once you do that you just click the button that says 'download torrent' and press 'open'.

Anyway, that link I gave you isn't working. I'm trying to find another one because I actually want to play this myself now.

I did a speed test and I got this

So now I am in my utorrent thing and it's asking me what my upload speed is. I haven't a fecking clue how to set this up.

I still don't know where to go to choose my upload speed. It's telling me there is a list, but the only list I can see is one full of shite like "Dial-up 28.8k" and "xx/64k" etc

Which one do I choose based on my speed test ?

Sounds about right. 10-15 mins left for me but my internet speed is not very fast I don't think.
 
Ah not to worry, I just went with the default settings and it's still working so happy days. Really looking forward to playing this game again. I've forgotten almost all of it so it'll be all new to me again
 
Right, this is different to the games I usually download but I think if you just follow the readme file I think it is pretty straight forward.

Yeah that's you uploading the torrent to other people who are also downloading it, that's how p2p works. I usually keep it seeding for a bit because it's good etiquette but you can just press stop if you want.

Yeah but it's not doing anything in the uTorrent.....it's at 100% but it says it's "seeding." Am I supposed to click a button to make it do something ?

Oh, you have to locate the downloaded files on you HD. It's probably somewhere in My Documents, that's were it is for Vuze.
 
Just played it, can only get it on small screen at the moment but I think I can change that. Brilliant so far.

Any problems?

Yeah you just click 'Edit game' on the ScummVM menu and go to graphics and tick the fullscreen box. You might need to tick the 'override graphic' button first or something.
 
So were you up all night playing it ? I got too knackered and couldn't find anywhere to save my game so I just turned it off. Definitely gonna get a few cans today and play away at this one. Feckin old school
 
I finished number 1 a few days ago. Only had to look up the walkthrough about 3 times which was pretty decent.

I'm not sure if I like No. 2. The puzzles are too feckin hard. Having used a walkthrough a little bit I was left wondering how in the name of feck I would have worked it out without internet help.
