I may be the devil, but i'm not a monster
First time i've been excited about a Need For Speed title in quite some time. I buy them all, purely for sentimental reasons, but this is a game that can bring that love back.

In fact, I'm backing this game so much after the last shit pieces that i've pre ordered it from Game.

Developed by the guys that made GTR and GTR2

Blimey Games.

Only 2 posts and the games been out for a bit? Well, it's a cracking game... my 2 pence.

Best cockpit view experience to date, good balance between realism and fun.

Xbox 360 Crashes Accessing Playstation Store?

Funny if true...

EA’s new Need for Speed Shift is the most bug-ridden piece of code I have witnessed in recent times. But when the Xbox 360 version seemed to want to access the Playstation Store today, things had clearly gone too far.

I’m a complete sucker for racing games, so when I heard that EA were transforming the latest installment in the Need For Speed series into a hardcore sim, I was very pleased indeed.

But after shelling out the equivalent of $70.00 to get my hands on it, i’m very disappointed. I mean, really EA, this game is not even finished. The list of serious bugs being reported by customers is embarrassing and it has crashed on me at least a dozen times.

But this could be the most embarrassing fail of all.

When navigating menus today while connected to Xbox Live the game suddenly crashed again. When my rage had subsided and I got a better look at the screen, I was pretty shocked at what I saw.

Was my Xbox 360 version of Need for Speed Shift really trying to access the Playstation Store? Microsoft are not going to be happy about this.

Update: I’ve had a couple of emails asking which version of the game this is. It is an original PAL special edition version in the black rubber case.

Well, I have had no problems with this game whatsoever... and I've been hitting this quite hard.

Lucky me eh?

On a side note, how many of you lot have had issues with it?

I prefer GRID. So far the best graphics, car handling, and the multiplayer modus is fantastic.

GRIDs good too, AI is really bad though, I have the racing wheel so handling is okay... it just takes a little longer to get back into the feel after playing other racers (not sure whether thats a good/bad thing).

Is that because of the wheel though? Because the feeling on the controler is just superb imo.

You can get good quality wheels at good prices nowadays, why would you race with a controller unless you had to? :nono:

Sitting in front of a good sized HD screen with a wheel in cockpit view (or at least without your own car in view) is the way to do it.

That's true, it's boring and predictable. That's why I only play online, sometimes you have good races with good drivers, sometimes dickheads crash into you on purpose, it's quite fun.

I should really try this. But yea, cockpit view on the pad just sucks. The new Dirt 2 cockpit view also looks great!

GRID's Demolition Derby online is ridiculously fun
Shame they didn't expand it a bit more.

Wanted to ask, does the matchmaking work well on this?

I'm a precision driver and most of my online races seem to be predominately against precision drivers (yay!), is it that most of the players are precision drivers or that I'm being matched with precision racers?

Are races online between aggression drivers pure carnage? that's what I want to know...

Just completed this game, no problems or issues.

Thought it was pretty good, 8/10, although some cars are just too uncontrollable.

Just noticed the damage model is crippled, (a strange EA decision) why would they do that? and there's no hope for console owners...

Been impressed by this new Need for Speed. They took a new turn trying to match GT and Forza - if these are signs to come from NFS, then GT have a good competitor in the coming years. But, GT5 will surely be something else.

Just drove the Ford GT.

feck off. It's retarded. I understand that it's probably hard to drive in real life because it's quite hard to control in Gran Turismo. But it drives like a shitc**t on easter sunday with no tires.
