it really is starting to get me down now. pre-ordered it off t'internet and it arrived a week before the release date (for ps3). unfortunate thing is, its for one of the boys for xmas. Am dying to rip it out of the wrapper and have a blast.

So what's it like. trailers look fantastic, but they don't always tell the true story do they.

seriously? I thought NFS Underground was really good. Carbon was disappointing and I dont know much about Pro Street.

yea I heard forza2 kicks ass, gotta try that one soon

I saw a demo of it on the PS Store I think, I'll download it and have a look tomorrow.

Pretty poor reviews so far. Unanimous opinions that it gets boring very quickly and you spend the majority of the time driving crap cars to unlock the better ones.

I heard GT5 is going to be The mother and I personally know a guy who is going to buy the PS3 only because of that game. I think he mentioned the Prologue is coming out in March 08 and the complete game in November 08.
 
What happened to the brilliant NFS series ? The new NFS simply sucks on PC.

Flatout 2 is still better than this commercial monster from EA. I simply don't like it.

I've got Forza 2, Project gotham 4 and Burnout Revenge. All of them are very good.

Forza 2 is good if you like the idea of tweaking your car (gear ratios, suspension lowering, etc) and driving realism (the Xbox's version of Gran turismo).

Project Gotham is a little bit different, more emphasis on driving style and challenges (eg overtake 10 cars, elimination races)

Burnout is pure and simple sillyness. Great fun smashing into other cars and causing as much damage as possible.

All are very good and i'd recommend them.

I did not like Need for speed Carbon or Test Drive Unlimited. Both crap.

Prologue is being released before the end of the year in Japan, you have been able to download the demo for about a month if you have a Japanese PSN account. Europe should be end of the year, early January, no later.

This is when PS3 starts getting busy. The GT series is one of the biggest sellers of all time. It will sell more than Halo 3.
 
So what are the best PC based driving games, I have GTR 2, but not really played it yet, just a little try and it seemed hard as feck, it will take some patience to master this one, looks great though.

Are there any other decent ones other than need for speed?

Flatout 2 is good.
 
im borrowing my mates game... and i think its..... SHIT well it is good but its just so much shitter than the old games i used to just like customizing the cars without buying them now you have to buy them o well..

Played the demo. Just a normal racer game now. I used to enjoy the police chases. But I suppose they could only take that so far.
 
Disappointing game.

I get sick of doing them bloody 'race days' time after time again, so fecking annoying! The drag races are shite, so is the drifting. I also miss having a 'free roam' option. The car modifying is fantastic, mind.

NFS Most Wanted was great, i used to enjoy speeding around the city looking for races and getting chased by the cops.
