Notable events till date: VT beat Ohio State and go on to lose against ECU and GT :D

BC beat #9 USC.

And most importantly, our record is already better than last years! Duke and UVa to battle for ACC coastal region?

Welcome to the inaugural CFB season with playoffs.

Miller is out for the season, so I don't care much for this thread.

Clemson are tied against Florida State at the moment. I still don't understand why Winston was suspended for one game. All he did was yell "feck her right in the pussy".

Mizzou lost against Indiana. LSU is on the verge of losing to Mississippi State. Bama managed to pull away from Florida late in the game, so I see them gaining points on Auburn in tomorrow's rank update.

Did I mention I don't care much for this thread?

Edit: Oh, all Big Ten teams won today, except for Michigan. Typical.

Looks like the shit has truly hit the fan at Michigan. Brandon and Hoke's days are surely numbered now.

Oregon lost to Arizona. I was hoping they would make the playoff but chances of that happening are slim, with the bias naturally leaning towards the SEC.

Ole Miss beats Alabama one week and Mississippi State beats Auburn the next. Wonder when the last time Mississippi had there way with Alabama.

I was hoping Arkansas could get a field goal against Bama and win the game in the end. Alas.

Going by the Ole Miss - Aggies game right now, the clash betwen Ole Miss and Miss St next week should be epic.

Bores me. I'll watch the random game here and there, and my Longhorns when possible, but it's such an inferior product compared to the NFL (for obvious reasons). It's also dominated by a handful of power conferences and schools, which renders it kinda monotonous.

I hope for both OU and UT's sake that they move to another conference.

That's a joke of a stat. They played and beat 3 teams when they were ranked in the top 25, including a top 5 Notre Dame team. Can't blame them for the fact that DeShaun Watson keeps getting hurt and Notre Dame are imploding. Hell, in that case, Miss St is 'Bama's first. FSU are #1 until they lose. 25 straight speaks for itself.

No, it doesn't speak for itself. 15 of those wins were with other teams. 25 straight is totally irrelevant. Alabama has a win over the then #1 team and 4 other good wins, A&M in a massacre. FSU has 4 good wins but none of them have been remotely convincing.

  1. Alabama
  2. Oregon
  3. Mississippi State
  4. Florida State

They shouldn't even be in the top two. ZERO top twenty five wins.

I don't see how you can hold that against them. They're beating every opponent in front of them (albeit sloppily).

That said, I wouldn't fancy them against Oregon or Obama. 3rd ahead of Mississippi State would be fair enough. I think Bama will lose to Georgia in the SEC title game if they get that far.

So is Marshall. But no one considers Marshall a contender so obviously strength of schedule matters.

Florida State are in a power 5 conference. At that level, a win should be worth much more than a quality loss in my opinion... there will always be arguments over the rankings as long as the sport exists.

Interested in seeing how yesterday's upsets impact the rankings.

Never seen an interior offensive lineman consistently get beat like Florida State's freshman center.
  1. Alabama
  2. Oregon
  3. Mississippi State
  4. Florida State
Pretty much agree with this. Florida State will make the BCS Playoffs, should they go undefeated, where I'd expect them to lose Bama/Oregon. Watched Mississippi State for the first time all year yesterday, and wasn't impressed with Dak Prescott at all.

FSU lost a lot of experience last summer, and it's showing. I thought Prescott was an outside Heisman candidate based on his performances earlier in the season.

AP rankings:

1. Florida St. (43)
6. Baylor
2. Alabama (16)7. Ohio St.
3. Oregon (1)8. Ole Miss
4. Miss. St.9. Georgia
5. TCU10. Michigan St.

Almost had it.

Was at Ole Miss today in Oxford. It's a remarkably beautiful campus and town in autumn and the rebel stadium is not bad either.
