The idiots in the local paper were trying to say that without the Lakers, there was no one "big" to shoot at in the playoffs. No mention of the Suns' regular season record, the way Shaq and the Heat ruled the East, or the fact that the defending champs, Detroit, had a pretty good season (and their easiest post-season series last year was against LA). Typical media crap--no Los Angeles, no New York, so it can't be that exciting or important.
I never have to worry about the playoffs, as I'm a Knicks fan. I think I'll cheer a Pistons-Sonics final (as I don't support teams from Texas or California).
