Welcome to the first Semifinal series of the NBA draft. Some basic rules to consider while voting:

1) Judge players only on the basis of their NBA record beginning from (and including) the season 94-95.
2) Base your vote on which team you think is more likely to win a series between the two.
3) The poll will remain open for 24 hours after creation.

The Rosters:

@Skizzo: Shaq, Wade, Payton, Draymond, Kawhi, Green, Iguodala, Williams, Bogut, Hardaway, Malone

@NM: Duncan, Robinson, Stockton, Pierce, Ginobili, Richmond, Horford, Rondo, Camby, Finley, Pippen

Best of luck @Skizzo @NM

Team Skizzo

Starting 5

Shaq - Center
Karl Malone - PF
Dwyane Wade - SG
Garry Payton - PG
Kawhi Leonard - SF

Bench players

Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Andrew Bogut, Deron Williams, Danny Green.

Style of play

With a focus on defense, we have top tier defenders in Payton and Leonard, with Iguodala and Green able to rotate in from the bench and keep up the defensive pressure. That's not even taking into consideration the fact that other players on the team often appeared in All NBA Defensive Team of the Year lineups.

On the offense, we have Malone, who is the second leading scorer in NBA history, behind only Kareem. Then there's Shaq, who was a two-time scoring champion, and seventh on the same All Time Leading Point scorer. There probably isn't a more dominant center in the draft, and while his defense may not be at the same tier as others in the draft, his ability to score, rebound, and block makes him a beast in his own right.

We have players on the bench to come on and spread the field out with plays from deep, but I'm confident in the ability of Wade, Shaq, and Malone to put points on the board, and our defence to shut down the opposition.

Highlights of the starters.

Starting 5:
PG - Stockton - best passer to ever play the game, with solid all-around game too, capable of scoring
SG - Richmond - an underrated player, great scorer
SF - Pippen - arguably one of the best NBA defenders ever
PF - Duncan - Duncan is arguably the best PF to ever play along with Robinson they formed a twin tower that got the spurs back to wining rings
C - David Robinson
Sixth Man: Ginobili - SG a great optiob for sixth man who played there most of his life
Rondo - PG a great great playmaker, had a great partnership with Pierce at the celtics
Paul Pierce - SF great all-around player, also has a great 3 point shot
Horford - Stretch 4 option
Camby - Lockdown C

Highlights for starters:
Stockton:

Richmond(if you don't know who is Richmond please watch this to see why he is one of the greats)

Pippen
Defense:

Offense:

Duncan:

While my Oppo focuses on Defense, we have a great balance between defense and attack, all of our starters are excellent on both ends and a most of our bench is the same, Duncan vs Malone will be interesting along with Payton vs Stockton, we can also use Pippen on Wade to lockdown his best scorer, also I think our bench will give us the edge in a strong match-up.

I wouldn't say we're looking to grind out a low scoring game. I said "with a focus on defense..." To highlight the elite level defenders we have in the starting 5 and on the bench. Our offense is hardly reliant on Wade to have a big game. Malone and Shaq are capable of big numbers, and we have players off the bench to spread out the court in Green or Iggy (to an extent).

Pippen is obviously a great defender, and he would limit Wade, but Malone and Shaq are both top 7 all time NBA scorers, and I don't see you being able to limit the three of them in their prime.

To say that my starting 5 aren't also talented both ways up and down the court is a bit disingenuous as well, since Wade was no slouch on defense, with important steals and forcing turnovers, Shaq with his blocks and rebounds, and that hasn't even gone in depth on the lockdown play of The Glove and Leonard.

I didn't say that though, what I said was your side is more talented defensively than they are offensively, and what I meant was Richmond doesn't have to take on Wade, we can leave that to Pippen, while Robinson and Duncan are capable and good enough to take on Malone and Shaq.

You'll have to expand on that a little then since Malone has 5 seasons where he has a higher average point total than Duncan's highest ever season...Wade averages higher than Richmond...and Stockton didn't score above 14 points after 94-95, whereas Payton had 10 straight seasons averaging higher than that.

So I have the better defenders, and if we look at the stats, the better scorers here too. Just because they're so talented defensively, doesn't mean they aren't capable of scoring. My starting PF, PG and SG all average higher scoring totals, and that's not even bringing Shaq into the discussion yet.

I'm not even saying your defence is better, our starting 5 doesn't have much to seperate them, all good attackers and good defenders, I'm betting on my bench to destroy yours tbh.

Also Stock feeding the ball to the post and pick and rolls will be extremely efficient for me not to mention Richmond great shooting and pippen all-round great game.

What seperate my team also is the great partnership of Duncan and Robinson in the starting 5 and Rondo+Pierce on the bench.

Will try and post soon. Been travelli ng for a month for work

so.. I'm here. Think this should be called Team Syrian Scholes since I've been MIA. Will wait till skizzo is around.
