Wings, only the band The Bealtes could have been.

There's a few places here in Belfast that do 70's nights, and when I started going to them, it really got me into 70's music.

The Groovy Train does mostly disco, but The Empire does more glam rock with a few disco songs. Always great nights.

I've always felt time is a bit of a quality filter when it comes to music. We'll always think there is too much shite in the charts these days but when we look back on a decade as a whole we'll pick out the best bits and create a distorted view of how good the said decade actually was. After all, who is going to remember the Jedward and the Cheeky Girls in 20 years time? You can bet any money the likes of The Strokes, The White Stripes, Arcade Fire... hell, even the likes of Winehouse and Gaga will be rightly remembered even though I can't stand them!

Not forgetting the initial punk bands, including The Ramones and the Clash

Nobody has mentioned any of: Kraftwerk, Neu, Can, Neil Young, Devo, Sparks, Faust, Big Star, The Stooges, New York Dolls, Curtis Mayfield, John Cale, Nick Drake, Elvis Costello, Modern Lovers, Suicide, Talking Heads, Television, Funkadelic or Sly and the Family Stone?!

Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye's 70's entire discography = untouchable

I was about to go off on one here and call you all sorts of cloth eared cnut, until I realised you meant untouchable as in the best as opposed to wouldnt touch with a bargepole.....silly me.

in saying that Journey through the secret life of plants is not great at all...and thats being kind.

A thread of 70's music and not one mention of Brian & Michael! someone do the honours I'm shite with youtube.....

First single I ever bought was Fox on the Run by The Sweet
