I imagine virtually everyone will vote Vidal, winger votes will swing between Di Maria and Sanchez and Robben, and if someone wants a defender they'll take Hummels and a few to Benatia.

You just wanted to be different. You're one of those guys who only likes things if they're still unknown, aren't you? :P
My point stands in that it's a tiny choice, well played.Robben is the best winger in the world by a distance, Strootman is top class and wouldn't cost the world (would allow you to strengthen with another player, a DM maybe) and I don't rate Hummels as highly as others so Benatia shades that.
If it was just pick the 3 best players and didn't take in to account price/money available for other transfers it'd be Benatia, Robben, Vidal though

Vidal and a central defender, I don't think we need anyone else.
I'd be happy with Carvalho though instead of Vidal, no Champions League i don't think we are in a position to pick and choose.
