I think the movie is actually aiming at the non-hardcore people and make a movie that was like Star Wars - Sci fi but loved by everyone

Sweet, but judging by the Spirit I won't be holding my breath. That was even more boring than the comic itself. Quite a feat that.

Agree with that, which is why I think the Spirit sucked so badly. Frank Miller was involved and it still stunk.
If Sin City 2 is even half as good as the last one it will still be a good movie. Frodo as a psycho killer, hard to beat that.
Major difference in that Frank Miller directed that one by himself. Robert Rodriguez is a much better director than Miller.
I have no idea who's the better, but the art work of Miller is incredibly cool. The Spirit pissed on that "legacy", Rodriguez is OK at action movies but nothing special though. That the art work of Miller's comics transferred to the screen made Sin work, not too sure that a no. 2 will work that well. Apart from LOTR I can't think of any follow-up movies that were as good as the original. The original Godfather was quite superior to the rest btw.

Most people won't watch that because of it fabulous realism though. I'm guessing it's the unrealistic action that draws people. Could be wrong though.

Early buzz on Public Enemies isnt very encouraging which is a shame.
