Mo Salah

I don't think TsuWave follows British politics! Better explain to him.

oh so it was a joke, my bad. i've been under a rock since around december 20th. not checked the news or anything, pretty much just manchester united, family, netflix and videogames for me during the festive period. but alas, come monday i'm leaving my retreat

edit - just checked. corbyn reference

Would be great for Liverpool to gef Reak Madrid in CL (grester if they are nnocked out).

Imagine Ramos grabbing Salahs sholder again... scousers would be fuming. Amd Salah would deserve it given his ease of falling over.

Fine margins, if Mane didn't hit the post, he'd have an assist and if Stones didn't scuff that clearance, he'd have a goal.
That pass to Mane was particularly good. Turned around a player in midfield, made a run & one-two before that as well. Simply a great play.

Imagine if Madrid buys him and he has to face Ramos every day.

Salah's record against the rest of the "big 6"

5 goals in 7 games against Spurs

4 goals in 7 games against Chelsea

4 goals and 3 assists in 4 games against Arsenal

3 goals and 3 assists in 6 games against Manchester City

0 goals and assists against Man Utd

It's hardly a bad record (maybe except against Man Utd). This season it's a different story but it may be explained by Klopp's change of system and defenders paying him more respect and giving him less space after he smashed the goal record last season.

Also remember he's playing RW most of the time.
That’s actually a really good record. Are those actual assists or Transfermarkt ones?

Fantastic player but I feel his biggest weakness is that he's a bit soft. CL final and the Kompany challenge showed he doesn't really want it.

He dislocated his shoulder in the CL final. How many players nowadays would play through that sort of injury? I think that's a bit harsh.

No I agree with that but the crying was a bit much. He is objectively quite soft.

Again, he missed the biggest match of his life, and was fearful of missing his countries first appearance at the World Cup where he's their talisman player, not to mention the pain that comes with dislocating such a large body part.

Nothing wrong with him crying, nor do I think it makes him "objectively soft." Would he go up in your macho-man estimations if he were to just get red faced & try to kick Ramos in the head? :D (That would've been class).

Crying shows you're soft? This is why lots of men don't show emotions, they know they'll be called soft.

I never said otherwise.
Not exactly, but you said he was soft, that it was a weakness, and that it showed he didn't really want it.

I don't think there is a player out there who wants it more than Ronaldo, and I don't recall a player who have cried more than him.

And I maintain that. Salah is a bit soft; and most probably doesn't want it as much as Ronaldo.

But your reasoning for saying he is soft that he cried. Ronaldo cries, a lot, but he's not soft. That's the contradiction.

But I'm a football fan and by nature tribal and bias. Plus I like Ronaldo but not Salah. And this a Manchester United forum so I'm allowed that at least.

With you on Mane but Auba didn't really have a good year though.

He had a good year individually, 25 goals 7 assists in 40 matches with Arsenal.

Of course Arsenal is not the club to be involved in title races and CL finals.

Deserved, but there isn't much competition is there?

In 2018, yeah there was no other choice imo.

This year it will be tougher between him and Auba though, but if he keeps his form Salah can pull out a Yaya Toure and dominate it for 2 more years at least.

Auba is quite old already, turns 30 this year.

Which young african players are most likely to win it in the future you think?

Usually look at those who contend for young player of the year. If they develop well they can contend for the big prize. Salah won it too when he was at Basel btw. Some of them fall out of the cliff though.
