Mo Salah

Liverpool went into their shell post-Salah injury in almost the same way they did when Salah went off against Roma. It's almost a carbon copy response.
Yeah that’s true. Ings came on and Roma started building play down that side.

True. Our lack of depth is a concern as evidenced by Lallanas non-appearance last night. Hopefully we'll sort it out in the coming months.

Where was Mané? Mane was trying to force things almost on his own and scored the equalizer. Firmino was underwhelming on the other hand.
Bit unfair. LFC had one plan, play the long ball to the wings for mane and salah. Firmino was the main play maker. The plan was working, Real were on the back foot and making poor passes. The gegenpress worked in midfield. When Salah went off, LFC had no plan B, and stopped doing Plan A. Mane and Firmino were not the problem. You had no leader to direct the changes needed to take on Real. Klopp proved yet again he is limited tactically.

I thought it was probably precautionary at the time. I'm sure he could have played on with an injection but why risk missing the World Cup.

That would have aggravated the injury. I don't think Liverpool itself would have welcomed this because Madrid will start to target him as a weak spot and the aggravated injury might have affected Salah coming preparation for next season. It's like when Ronaldo was pulled out of Euro final.

Sadly this was true last night. My hope is that Klopp learns and continues to develop his game plan so that it’s more flexible if we need to make a change.

We all know that Ronaldo going off injured wouldn’t have impacted Madrid like Salah did us.

I was wondering if maybe Solanke would’ve been the better choice, with Firmino dropping into a number 10 role and us switching to a diamond. That or Firmino going wide right or left, and Solanke up top.

Doubtful. He came on against Brighton but he’s barely played any football lately and has had injury issues all season.

Klopp went for him because of his experience I think but it wasn’t the right sub.

Lallana being on standby also leads me to think he's still struggling with recovery. Was looking forward to him in the world cup but oh well.

I was sad for Salah last night, but not for the game or Liverpool. I fecking despite Liverpool and him walking off is great news for everyone else. I do not wish injuries on him, but since it happened, good times indeed. I also couldn't care less if he reaches the World Cup or not, it's not like I'm going to see any Egypt-matches and it's not like they are going to play more than three games.

Very happy for him, he really deserves to be there representing his country.

It's a tough moment for anyone to come into in fairness. Both teams have just started to find their rhythm, emotions running high, Madrid started to take control and the sub is just playing catch up the entire 1st half. He did look totally out of sorts though. Bit of a weird player. Looked great at times last season but there haven't been many signs you've missed him this season.

He’s almost hit the dreaded 30 I think as well. I don’t think he’s going to be getting any better.

Salah is not this beaming icon of purity as some think. Remember the attempted punch on Bruno Martins Indi. I think he deliberately tried to tangle with Ramos and came off the worst for it.

That being said, he really is Egypt's great hope for the WC, so I hope for the sake of their people, he recovers in time.

I actually do believe it is a foul from Salah and maybe even should be a yellow card for him too. Ramos plays the ball and is in a superior position to the ball, while Salah grabs Ramos and brings him down with his legs.

If the option is Solanke or not Solanke, going with not Solanke is always the right idea.

IMO you needed to move Mane to the right. The game changed when Marcelo had free reign to get forward and Ronaldo pushed up.
You didn't see Ronaldo shaking his head on the halfway line anymore when Salah went off

I'm sceptical about this 3 weeks being true.

Although it could be that he was only temporarily crocked & they have to say something was wrong (and will take some time) to avoid making him look a bit soppy - but I don't really believe that's what they are doing.

Egypt just want to get him there, first up.

But even a minor dislocation is going to be very problematic at this late stage of proceedings - for a bit longer than 3 weeks anyway.

So, I've covered meself, which is obviously vital, :D. But I still don't think we know any more, basically.

I'm glad Salah is okay for the World Cup (you'd want to be wholly vindictive to think otherwise) but it's a total con that people are lumping the blame on Ramos for an action that Salah himself instigated, and an action he continually does to try draw fouls from defenders. Ramos, being the wily fox he is, wasn't having any of it. Tough luck on Salah for it to end his game last night but maybe he'll think twice the next time.

Limited squad options though compared to Madrid. I thought Klopp was more one-dimensional in the Sevilla final, but last night Liverpool didn’t have the quality to beat Madrid once Salah went off, irrespective of what Klopp did.

That’s a massive relief. He deserves to be there.
It’s really not. He will play whilst not being fit and it might still have consequences for the start of next season.

The only reason I want him playing is because I want him happy, but it wouldn’t be the worst if he missed it. He’ll play though since even at 70%, and Egypt will want him on the field by then, he’s still their best player.

Except salah was the one making the foul and also the one who accidentally tripped Ramos

Also best attack on the planet you have 2 other forwards where was mane and firmino??

You are a one man team
A one man team where all three forwards scored 10 goals each during the CL campaign..

Egypt haven't qualified for a world cup since 1990.

This is a massive deal for them..so they will do everything to have him there.

It's pretty clear that Salah instigates the holding on Ramos and then comes off worse due to how he falls.

Laughable that Liverpool fans are actually saying Ramos did it on purpose.

Suarez or Godin already have their eyes on Salah weaknesses if he’s not well recovered. They gonna put to the test his shoulder for sure.

A lot if people here were saying the same as well, which is totally ridiculous. Video footage literally showed us Salah was the one holding Ramos... anyway, no-one makes a cynical, violent foul in a split second when falling over. Ramos isn’t that clever

Suarez will defend on him ?
You have corners, set pieces etc., he also tracks back a lot for Uruguay when they under severe pressure and camped inside their own box to close down players - basically he will find his moment if needed.
