Mo Salah

You've been asked to cut it out already
The irony in you waltzing in to a conversation that didn't involve you to start throwing out insults to someone you label a ''''woeful" poster and "abusive" is hilarious and a total parody of what you claim to dislike.
Looking at your other posts here thus far it seems you like an argument. ... I'll give you a few months.

Anyway welcome to the Caf and Happy Easter

You are an awful poster. You do nothing but insult other posters and I called you out on it. That's not an insult. You calling another poster a wum is. Your hillarious projection in calling another poster argumentative is irony at its finest. You've got your tagline for a reason.
In any case, stop derailing the thread with your nonsense. Stick to the thread topic.

No problem however as @Akshay rightly pointed out (thanks by the way) it was DF that started the confrontation. I shouldn't bite in that fashion though, you're right.
I started no confrontation. You insulted another poster as is your fashion. I told you to stop insulting other posters, after which you insulted me.
In any case, we're done here. Stop derailing the thread. If you'd like to say anything, send me a private message.

Keep this thread about Salah. Stop calling people trolls and wums, stop accusing posters of being opposition fans just because they have no time for posters like you, and stop projecting.

Again, ironic you complain about the thread being derailed yet you post mega post after mega post derailing it further yourself. Jesus.

Maybe deserves to be player of the season. But voting was probably done when KDB was still considered a favourite to win it.

Thanks for getting us back on track after that interruptuon.

Yeah I'm starting to think Salah should get it as his goalscoring from those wider areas has been quite exceptional. It's the level of consistency he's achieving infront of goal which is most impressive given even experienced PL centre forwards like Lukaku and Kane have both had difficult spells this term.

Reading elsewhere that Salah has scored in 21 different PL league games. He's already joint top with Ronaldo and RvP. Needs to score in one more league game to be the most ruthless goalscorer ever seen in the PL in one season.

I can't help thinking if we had signed an 'ordinary' goalscoring winger who would only give us 15-20 league goals we'd be fighting Arsenal for 6th place.

Edit: furthermore only one of those goals was a penalty!

There's a possibility someone else would have stepped up like last season.
However, I feel like this season at least we are being carried by the front three. Our midfield has meant we've made tactical shifts away from our usual style.

I think I love him. He’s got a chance of reaching 45 goals which would be incredible. He’s on 37 goals now with at least 8 games to play, including games against Brighton, West Brom, Bournemouth and Stoke (three of those are at home).

What do we think for next season (assuming he’s still a Liverpool player, which I think he will be)? I think it’s reasonable to expect 20-30 goals in all competitions.

Hard to guess. We're going to have a stronger midfield with Kieta coming in, and hopefully more options in general in the midfield/forward areas so we can be a little bit more flexible, but at the same time, teams will likely do better against us next season.

If he can manage 30 goals next season, I'd be absolutely chuffed.

I can't see why he will slow down? Like Lukaku, he doesn't really pad his stats with hat tricks again relegation sides. The goal spread and consistency alone tells me this isn't some freak run of form.
If he played for Madrid or Barca we would see posts about Salah being Ronaldo / Messi heir apparent but because he plays in England theres massive doubts about doing it next year or advising Liverpool take the money and run.
Imagine he was a Madrid player. Oh nobody could buy him because of his value as an African galatico, his movement reminds me of Raul etc etc. The hype would be ridiculous.

Well said Cyberman. Tru' d.at.

As for African Galactico he's also equalled Drogba's stat for most PL goals I think. So one more goal to be the African that holds that record.

He deserves PL player of the season.

Agreed. What's remarkable is that records are often set when teams are good enough to win the league, i.e surrounded by top players. Drogba, Ronaldo, RvP, Shearer for examples. Suarez is a standout name in that list and soon so will Mo be.

But even Suarez had enough top players (Gerrard, Sterling, Coutinho, Sturridge) to nearly win the league. As good as Mane and Firmino are they will hardly be remembered in the same light. Salah has support from them obviously but is kind of flying solo.

Disappointing neither will have a title after such scintillating seasons with us.

Salah is awesome, I’ve had him in my Fantasy-team since day 1 and can’t complain on that alone. He scores the goals, he’s at the right place at the right time. He’s dangerous and has that confidence you only get from scoring. Scoring goals is the most important thing in football, but his club is galaxies away from winning the league.

He’s not on level with de Bruyne though, he gets the award from me. He is the utmost reason why City are cruising, he is the brains behind almost every attack in every game. He has passes in him that nobody else in the world can do, he creates goals when they need them the most. Furthermore, he does a lot of defensive work - something Salah is allergic to. One should not undermine the importance of the defensive runs and checking, it’s what keeps City’s scorelines at the back to low.

I’m fairly confident Salah will be with us next season and so feel that should he score 20+ league goals then, he’ll have done exceedingly well. The trick for Klopp to get almost as much from Salah again will be in how he strengthens the side in the summer in order to take emphasis from Salah. United simply man marked our front 3 and nullified them. They could do that as they knew that our midfield offered nothing and so we had loads of possession there with limited return. We’ll need to bring in two other CM’s along with Keita to change that , to make teams try to second guess our points of attack because at the moment its our front 3 or nothing. We haven’t won a game this season without at least one of our front 3 scoring!

At times? He’s carried them in every game.

Sure he has, Firmino and Mane have just been innocent, non scoring, non assisting bystanders. That’s like saying Lukaku has been carrying UTD?

Outside chance of ballon d'or?

If Liverpool makes it further than Barca or Real and Egypt does something like get into QF (very possible they knock out Portugal btw with Winners A vs. R-up B) of the WC then its possible? (huge ifs though)

He's the business alright. This whole theory of him being much inferior to Kane or Neymar is just plain wrong. He's easily in the same class as them.

The more and more I watch him, the more and more I see a less refined Messi. Body movement, ball control and the way he strikes the ball for shots/passes. He’s on the wrong team

Nowhere near Neymar class imo. Just nowhere near!

Having an incredible season, should win PL POTY.

Any news on the injury ?
Minor, should be back for City. I wouldn't play him against the yard dogs on Saturday even if he was 100% fit.

Behave, he may not be better (debatable) but no where near Neymar level? :wenger:

If they win the CL, yes, otherwise has to be a City player imo - either De Bruyne or Silva

Suarez won it without winning anything? Salah has been better then both KDB and especially Silva and should rightfully win it.

He deserves to be the player of the season IMO. Would love an Egyptian to win this prize though.

Yeah but you could the say the same thing about shaquiri...or any short, quick left-footed attacking player really...

The closer comparison right now for me is Bale. He's like a better version of Bale

Suarez played for a title contender in a tight race, City will literally win the title in April, the gap is enormous.

He has had an incredible season no doubt - will be interesting to see what happens in the summer as I would be surprised if Liverpool hang on to him. No idea if this is just a fabulous purple patch for him or if he really is the real deal - still has a little to prove.

It's obviously hyperbole but he's right, he's not in the same category as Neymar. Neither are Kane or De Bruyne though. They're not far off

At this point yes

Lets wait another season at least before judging that. One fabulous season is great but he needs to keep it going for another season or two before being compared to them.

The gap with City and the rest is enormous, yes.

Does that have anything to do with who's had a better season between KDB and Salah? No.

CL should have no influence on PL POTY and which teams wins the title shouldn't either.
