Tight pricks want to pay him a McDonalds wage.
TBF he’s been at Liverpool the same length of time Cantona did for us, and doubt there’s many if any United fans that don’t class King Eric as a legend. They sure give legend status out easily over those parts

His goal scoring record is phenomenal since joining Liverpool. He doesn't seem to do it in finals (one penalty scored and none in open play in eleven finals), but you can't doubt his contribution overall. They sure give legend status out easily over those parts
He's doing it in fewer games but he's also part of the self proclaimed best team in Premier League history, and in a team that is geared to make chance after chance for him. He's taken the most shots per game in the league of any player and has been in the top 2 in that regard every year since he returned to England. His goal statistics are no surprise.
It also wasn't a surprise that since January when the goals dried up his performances fell off a cliff. I said many pages back multiple times that underneath the goals was an extremely ordinary footballer, and I think this half a year has really shown that. He's a player who can produce great moments but he isn't a great footballer. He's a perfect fit for Klopp's system and they truly get the best out of him.

To be fair you are consistent. If you said Salah was in any way am ordinary footballer that was a ridiculous opinion then and is a ridiculous opinion now.

Ah so that's what we had in mind letting Pogba and Lingard go for free: Using their wage bill to fund Salah's salary, you mean?United should let his people know they'd be willing to pay him £500,000 a week. Feck them scousers.
Eric led us to 4 titles in 5 years only missing out in the year he was banned, a massive influence.TBF he’s been at Liverpool the same length of time Cantona did for us, and doubt there’s many if any United fans that don’t class King Eric as a legend.
Losing both Salah and Mane in one season will be a big blow for Pool but they are both in their 30s and will have to be replaced soon anyway. Liverpool should look to swallow the bitter pill and get this done with rather than drag this on for a whole season leading to a lose-lose situation like with Pogba.
I guess too many have been burned by the Sanchez saga.Salah isn't actually 30 yet.
And you don't just drop off at 30 anyway.

Yep. Liverpool will be more confident now he’s coming out with these threats. He wants to stay, he just wants paying. They’re counting on him wanting to stay as much as he wants to get paid and so a compromise will be found.Salah with a sly crank on the pressure wheel.
Oh I might just join a top English team.
Smart money is still a contract renewal.
If Sterling goes, Salah at City ? Wouldn’t be the biggest shock in football!Salah with a sly crank on the pressure wheel.

I was watching Salahs 100 PL goals yesterday on Sky, and some of his play and goals were unbelievable early on. He’s definitely starting to decline. There is no way he’s going to be hitting those heights in the next couple of years. Liverpool need to cash out now if possible. Giving him a 5 year contract on 300-400k will be suicidal!

Shearer alone would get you to 3, so I’m very much doubting your assertion hereYou don’t just drop off at 30 but the age curve is steeper in the PL than other leagues and it’s steepest for forwards.
You can count the number of truly elite seasons by a PL forward aged 31+ since 2000 on a single hand with a couple fingers left over.
You never know but a reasonable baseline case is that Salah has one more very good season in the tank then a couple so-so seasons then it’s time for MLS.
True. But wide fowards in the PL who have great seaons over 30 are few enough.Shearer alone would get you to 3, so I’m very much doubting your assertion here
He has been brilliant for them, has won all the big trophies. Not sure what he has to do to be considered a legend other than that.I don’t think Salah is as iconic as Cantona though..
I'm starting to think we would be better off by selling both him and Mane and replace them with two forwards from '96-'00. Prepare for the future and add young talent. A new deal for Salah might be worth it for next season or the season after, but I doubt he'd be worth a 4-year deal for the full duration of said deal.
Odds are stacked against everyone to win the PL next season against City with Haaland (and maybe others) added to their team. Why not prepare the squad for a few years in advance and hope that KDB is too old / Guardialo has finally fecked off by then.

There isn't a hope of Liverpool signing someone as good as him, I'd be giving him a medium term bumper contract.
People that score goals at the rate that Salah does are incredibly rare, there is a decent amount of luck involved in signing players not producing at that level already.Salah wasn't as good as Salah when we signed him. There are a few good players around at the moment (Nunez, Nkunku, etc) not that I've seen much of them in their leagues. To be honest I hadn't seen much of Salah after Chelsea either.

Salah isn't your typical 9 though. How many wide forwards above 30 have consistently produced goods ? Genuine question !Shearer alone would get you to 3, so I’m very much doubting your assertion here
Absolutely. These players are difficult to guess at and then to see them deliver consistently. That's why you instead look for players that will fit in a system and the whole team will then score the required goals in a season. City being the prime example, they have won the last 5 (?) PL's without a golden boot winner.
It's all about the right player for the system. Not the player that will save the whole team.
I would love the club to make an effort to bring Salah to the club if he is in fact available this summer or next. He is a proven scorer and has the winning mentality.
