Some interesting points as we approach the quarter mark of season 2007:

*Bonds is approaching Aaron. He hasn't been caught for 'roids yet, but regardless of all that, I can't stand the player. Shame.

*AL Central: best division in baseball for my money. Cleveland and Detroit are both very solid. It will be interesting to see if the White Sox or maybe even the Twins start getting on a run (both are capable, which would make for an amazing race).

*NL Central: worst division. I'm shocked at how awful the Cards are. I don't know how long the Brewers can stay on top. They had a great first month and a half.

*Mets and Braves should have a good race in the NL East.

*Lastly:

EAST W L PCT GB HOME ROAD RS RA STRK L10
Boston 35 15 .700 - 17-7 18-8 272 191 Won 4 7-3
Baltimore 24 27 .471 11.5 15-11 9-16 228 225 Won 3 6-4
Toronto 23 27 .460 12 13-11 10-16 229 233 Won 1 5-5
Tampa Bay 21 28 .429 13.5 13-14 8-14 230 294 Won 2 4-6
NY Yankees 21 28 .429 13.5 12-13 9-15 256 236 Lost 4 3-7

Well well well. My Bostonian instincts still won't let me feel safe. But it's nearly June. Go Youk!!! :D

feckin hell at 13.5 games behind. Im still hoping for the end of season Boston collapse / Yankee streak. Odd since A-Rod had such a super April yet they find themselves in this position, once agian.

Hopefully Mets prevail as well.

I reckon the Brewers will have a bad run soon.

As should the dodgers and the diamondbacks

Boston lost and Yankees won today. Hopefully thestart of a streak for both teams.

This weekend series could be important. Now even if the Red Sox get swept, and I doubt they will, we'll still be 10.5 up. Yankee morale would surely be boosted with a superior showing at Fenway, and with Clemens back next week.

Last time the two meet until way later in the year. Who knows what will be going on in the standings by then...

What is everyone's opinion on Bonds.

I think it s sad that Aaron says he will be out on a golf course when he hears. No matter what Bonds did cheating has gone on with baseball through the ages from greasing bats or balls, to illegal bowling.

No one mentions clements and his association with drugs yet is a legend.

No matter what Bonds does he is never going to win but his achievement is special

At the end of the day, you still gotta hit the ball out of the park....

Bonds is a great player, steroids or not. His attitude is heinous though. Baz has a point though; there's been cheating in baseball for its entire history. The 1919 Series was fixed too.

I'm watching Boston come from behind to most likely beat the Yankees.... again....

erm... uh... well... damn it.
it's feckin stupid that I still get so pissed off about losing to them when we're still over ten games up. now they're gonna have all kinds of media-contrived 'confidence.'
