blackburn was the game i thought we really missed the big game hunter (inside united!) . It's coming to a crucial time in the season , and we have all these big games , and Fletch is still injured. However still feeling confident we can do it . I'm proud of fletch for playing for hi country in a friendly and not faking injury like several old firm players did.

In all the Interviews I've seen from United players regarding Fletcher, they always said he was brilliant in training. In hindsight i guess he found it hard to perform with the pressures that are put on a United player. I also agree last year he improve an awful lot, but IMO his great displays for Scotland against top players gave him the confidence to express himself and come out of his shell for United.

We probably did miss Fletcher for the Blackburn match, but we also missed Hargreaves or Anderson as well. We could have done with someone with a bit of mobility in that match but oh well.

I think (and hope) that Fletcher will be featuring on an even more regular basis by the time Scholes retire. In my opinion the progress he's made the past two seasons just goes to show how great of a player he'll be for us in the coming years.

And we really need someone who's come through our youth system as well! We signed him when he was 15 right? So he counts as one of those =)

agree mate , think he will be making more progress as he matures too ;)

I miss him.

Think of how difficult it must be for him to even get a look in, it's a testiment to his improvment and endevour that he has played as many games as he has this season (not that many but still). When you consider that he has to complete with scholes, Anderson, Carrick and Hargreaves when 3 of them cost upwards of 15million and Scholes is a legend.

Fletcher looks a different player these days and always did look like a central midfielder, playing him outwide when United were starved for options only made fans get on his back and probably stunted his development. He is very much a confidence player.

I hope he gets back and can play a part in the remaining fixtures.

Its funny that when we loose or draw we miss those who do not play... go get a life mate... this is football...

in big games, playing in a midfield 3, games that he doesn't have to think but let his natural talent and reactions take over are the times when fletch comes on into his own. however, he is still frustrating when played against the rest of the premiership or lower sides in domestic cups because i think when he has too much time he freezes. he's very much a confidence and rhythm player.

Fletcher is best when he has time on the ball, some people likened it to the way Scotland plays.

Improved trememdously and if he can keep up the level of performance like the one against Arsenal, his contribution is going to be far ahead than what he used to have on the right of midfield, (a total liability for a team going forward).

More of Fletcher in the middle, more cover for him to express himself, may be more time on the ball similar to Veron should give him more confidence.

Sure, a decent option to have Fletcher in the squad.

I agree, he is actually good when he has time on the ball. When he is in good form his passing is top drawer and he is an intelligent player. I've been thrilled with his development over the last 2 seasons, i've always been a Fletch fan but i had my doubts if he could make it at United.
