:(

at least better than few weeks ago, but a draw would be a better result with our current forms in recent matches.. 5 clean sheets and then a lost, really hurts :(

we will bounce back in worthington cup, see you clit croft! ;)

We actually missed having Scholes up front, as Forlan wasn't holding the ball up well, and Ruud's form is dipping again. Our defence was strong again, and if we'd scored first I'm sure we'd have won.

No doubt in my mind that we missed Seba! He had been pulling all the strings in the last few weeks we could've done with his guile and creativity! Thought Diego was doing okay!He showed some nice touches but Giggsy and Solskjaer werent supporting him when he did hold it up! I didnt think replacing a Centre Forward with a Defensive Midfielder was a wise move at 1 down! Phil should've come off! Ruud was very poor! Didnt look interested at all!

Can we bounce back? Our Away form is poor and we played today like we'd bein playin all last season and earlier this year!!

'Boro is a tough game too!

yea, forlan wasnt playing good. and we missed giggs dribbling, where was the dribble that he was used to in previous matches :(

Thats BOLLOX we had about 2 maybe 3 clear cut chances they had 6 or 7 with both of the gruesome twosome up front trying to score!

We Missed Seba! Hope he is back for 'Boro

This was the type of match when you would expect Giggs to perform, instead he did not exert any influence on the game at all and was very ordinary. Ruud had another poor game, from a goal scoring point of view, with two vital chances missed, although credit had to go to Friedel for the second. I didn't think Diego played badly at all and was very surprised to see him substituted. Keane on for him and Blanc for Phil Neville, pushing Silvestre into midfield were very strange decisions. The urgency was missing today although you cannot expect the sort of intense performances we've seen recently to be repeated every game.

Oh, for feck sake. Had Veron been playing the same people would've said we lost because he was playing.

Veron playing or not, we lost because we didn't take our chances. Maybe they had more chances but all but one came after they had scored and we had to play riskier. The luck wasn't on our side and maybe Veron would've changed that, more likely he had not.

IMO we lost because David Elleray was the referee... ;)

I thought Diego had a good game. RVN and Ole were below par, and Scholes was trying his best to bring some kind of cohesion between midfield and attack.

Defence was good - O'Shea was brilliant.

Im really woried about Giggs ...I think we have seen the best , > there will I hope be some more cameo performances to come to remind us of how good he was and of how much we owe , but would you not have preferred Duff in red today......he is what Giggsey was

Didn't see much of the game. Only Ruud missing quite a chance when he was alone against Friedel.
How did he play the rest of the game? Considering you lost, it couldn't have been fabulous...

Ruud ...por today , but to be fair the service to him wasnt great

Re: Duff

I dont agree that Duff is what Giggs was at all! I think he is a good player but not yet as good as Giggs! Lets not forget, that as poor as he was today, he destroyed Depor 2 weeks ago and he is one of the few players that we have that everybody, and I mean everybody in Europe is afraid of! On his day he can roast ANY right back in the world!

Re: Veron

I disagree with the person who said those of us who missed him today would have complained if we'd have lost with him in the team! I think he and Scholesy to a lesser extent have been the reasons for our recent renaissance!!!!!

Why not? i do expect the intensity to be 100% - maybe once we're a few goals ahead they can start to relax, but if you want to win, you had better put in the effort, for each and every game, right from the kick off...

the subsitutions were a joke today, forlan was doing ok, bringing on these big-name players just because they are fit again is bull shit. Do we want roy keane back? yes of course, but we want the real roy keane not the 'I'll use this match as a stepping stone' roy keane.

This was 3 points conceded rather than lost, we cant afford to be this generous for the rest of the christmas period...

scholes has been the key man over the last few months, he didnt play as well today as he has been doing so we looked a bit lost at times going forward. A few chances were missed today that would normally be put away, so i think we can chalk this one up as just one of those days.

Veron played or not, he might not make the difference. We have created enough chance to win the match, but we just couldn't convert them. When Ruud, Ole, Giggs and Forlan had a bad match all at the same time, it's not surprisng why we have lost.

Agreed. At least 2 clear chances created by Scholes for Ole and RVN but it's unthinkable both of them couldn't convert.

I think Scholes was the key yesterday. He has settled in the hole that he needed just a wee bit of time to settle back into the deeper role that Fergie gave him.

I thnk the starting line up was wrong....i think becks sould have played instead of Phil.....Becks plays well in the middle ....and I would have taken Ruudd off for Keane not Forlan....well 4 points off....have to win the next few matches....wat time is the kick off of the boro game???

You may be right. The Blackburn game is always an intense affair. In the first ten minutes we had them by the throat but couldn't make the pressure count. At the beginning of the second half and right up to the last ten minutes or so we looked second best with Rovers outplaying us at times. Unfortunately in these games if you get a chance you've got to take take it and Ruud had an off day. Maybe Seba would have made a difference, I don't know, but when all is said and done we weren't up for it. Now we need a minimum of a draw at Boro, preferably a win of course, and two home wins against Birmingham and Sunderland. If Arsenal slip up in say two of their games then this result won't mean that much. Fergie's going to have to fire them up again I think.

We did have some chances to finish them off.. i think we should have finished 'em off.. somehow there seemed to have been a little lack of confidence up front.. i wonder why.

duff and dunn looked solid down both flanks.

the nutmeg on Scholes will be talked about for a while to come.

i won't say we missed Veron that much because we stil had a very decent squad, but we sure did miss a proper support for Ruud.

Or a proper cover/challenger for Ruud? Ruud last night was really abnormal -- missing a number of easy chances, yet I couldn't see the anger or regret on his face. Ruud's performance this season was not very consistent, so we certainly need someone to step-in in case his form dip again.

I didn't. He was muscled off the ball too easily and made a few slack passes.

Not that he was any worse than some of the others.

But all credit to Blackburn. And it could have been worse - Cole or Yorke might have scored.

At least we don't have to say we shouldn't have sold them. Cole was true to form at any rate....

Deny it if you must but Veron WOULD have made a difference. His up turn inform also contributed to an upturn in OUR form. Especially since Scholes seems now to be more effective as a support striker than any wherer else. And about Forlan. He plaed much better than giggs. PERIOD! It's high time Fergie brought in a real quality left winger like solari/ D'allesandro or even Musampa (of malaga) to pressurize Giggs. His been with out good competition sinc Sharpe left and he has now taken his starting place for granteed. He plays with now desire or enrgy anymore. and without him serious on the left it handicaps us alot. The chief hath spoken

I've got to @ the entire concept of this thread.

Veron was missed friends. He is a quality playmaker who admittedly has had a bit of a problem adjusting to the English game. He was needed on Sunday. You only have to watch him closely to see that technically he is world class. He has been finding form recently and seems to have come up with an answer to his problems. However,I worry about Keano's influence on Veron and just wonder whether Seba becomes too tentative when Roy's around. Like having your boss continually over your shoulder. I may be wrong but it is a fact that Veron has shone in the absence of Keane. Hopefully Roy's stated intention of easing up on the rough stuff will extend to not berating his players just because they don't dive into every tackle like suicidal maniacs. You do need players like that but Veron is not one of them. He plays an altogether different game which is just as important.

'Boro will b a hell of a game, we have to get at least soemhting out of it

Strange substitutions on Sunday. Take the emotion out of it and look at the logic. Keane on for Forlan, Beckham for Giggs and Balnc for Neville. At least two thirds of those decisions would have been the kind you would make if we were leading 1-0 and wanted to consolidate. Say what you will about Giggs and Forlan, the probability of one of those two creating one moment of brilliance to get us a goal is far higher than that of Blanc and even Keano bearing in mind his layoff. Remember Diego does have a habit of scoring late.

No not at all.
Even if Seba had played he could've done little.
Scholesie was brilliant.
Look at this facts
Seba has been in the pitch for Arsenal 90,Depo 90
Hammers 90 Worthless cup (i think 90)..
He would've been tired he had played for nearly
5 hours excluding training in 9 days..
Giggsy was also tired..
SAF should take the blame. He should'nt have
played our full squad in the worthless cup.

He is much better than Beckam.
Scholes showed some patches of brilliance.

I saw him give the ball away and pass to ghosts a lot yesterday.

It was one game Weaste, he's been the most the most consistent player this season along with O'Shea. He's not had a rest for quite a while either. Its easily forgiveable mate.

i honestly say i thought becks would have been a natural replacement for Veron yesterday.....he showed a lot of commitment and maybe we should have brought him on with Keane.....

Hey the guy from Madras...we r friend now...no more dirty quarelling!!! :)

how long into the game did becks step over the white line?

on 606 last night a caller said blanc had cost us the game with his lack of pace and green agreed even though he hadnt seen the game, then he changed his mind when his producer told him that blanc came on in the 87th min

tool or what

Never said otherwise, I'm just trying to point out to our friend that Scholes was not brilliant yesterday as he seems to think he was.

You know about me and saying players had "a bad game" Neil. Remember the episode of me getting slated for once saying RVN had a bad game? ;)
