It's just a certain genre of music I guess... either you like it or you don't. Personally, I love the sense of "drama" his songs have. And some of his inflections/style reminds me of Freddie Mercury, so that might be part of it.

Oh and break both his legs, scratch his face with a cheese grater and throwing lots of salt on it after which pissing on it, tearing off each of his finger nails, cut his ears off in a Reservoir Dogs esque style whilst dancing to the Benny Hill theme tune, before getting that lass who ripped off her partners ball to do the same to him and finally stringing him upside down so kids can pretend he's a Piñata and smack the feck out of him.

Then string him up outside the Blue Peter studios to show kids that this isn't the way music is made.
