Middelsborough v.s Manchester United. Official thread

Gonna end up like the scousers the way this Christmas period is going...

Ever since Keane came back, we've been crap. His influence today was zero. What's more, he seems to spook the rest of the side when he's on the pitch. Time to offload him to Celtic in January!

I give you...The latest muppet

It depresses you being a united fan?. you dont know how lucky we are. Look at bristol city or swansea, thir division, no money, no fans and bottom of the nationwide.
And how can you write us off?, werent we 9 points behind on November 10th.
We played pathetically today but dont let this be the start of "sack fergie" "keaneo is useless" brigade, you just end up with egg on your face in the end.

Did I say "sack fergie"? Did I say "Keano is crap"? No I didn't. I said it pisses me off being a united fan these days. Please dont assume things you dont know.

I might be tempted to say that I've been supporting united since before you were born, as I have been a supporter for several decades now. But as I dont know anything about you I wont make any such assumption.

I will say reiterate however that it pisses me off being a fan these days as, frankly, it does.

I am not writing off this season. but as Fergie rightly said, and in doing so rather publicly invited a "blip", the meat and drink games have to be won. Whats the point of beating Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle, only to lose the last 2 games against teams that should be beaten by championship contenders?

When Keane gets injured or banned again then we'll start winning again.

As a new comer you should learn to respect our captain first. If you have no respect to our captain how can you call yourself a supporter of this club?

The club comes first above any individual player and I think Phil Neville is playing better than Keane is right now. Reasons: Phil Neville is match fit and desperate to establish a first choice place in the squad. Keane is not match fit and knows he doesn't really need to win back his place, he'll get it back anyway. Keane has been a great player in the past but has he now had too many serious injuries, is he getting a little too old, has he too much adverse publicity weighing him down mentally?

It surprises me that P. Neville is playing so well but it's a fact nevertheless, and a fact that, captain or not, Keane is not match fit. P. Neville has been a great midfield partner for Veron, perhaps because he's willing to allow Veron to shine by playing as provider and enabler. Keane is world class in a way that P. Neville will never be but Keane alongside Veron hasn't really worked whereas P. Neville alongside Veron has. So respect has nothing to do with it, team performance comes first.

Just my opinion, feel free to debate it!

United are a team that thrives in adversity... we are a team that doesnt give up when the chips are down and will fight to the last whistle.

BUT, don't you just think that United can only show desire and determination when the dig themselves into a hole first.

we were fecked up before liverpool and we needed a shameful defeat to the massives to find our footing and start fighting for it.

rite after all the good work, one point behind the arse, the players take their foot of the pedal again and now were back to square one.

why is it that the players can only show grit and hunger when were fecked. do we have to climb to the top of the table only to slip to fourth or fifth, then climb again...

what is this nonsense, where is the desire from previous championship winning seasons?

take a look at the performance against boro... we needed two fecking goals to start showing some amount of urgency and good possesion.

the players should be ashamed. why is it that they needed a 2 goal kick in the ass to wake them up.

sometimes i can't believe i'm actually watching united play. we're playing like also rans (ie. chelsea, leeds) rite now which is a fecking disgrace to this great club.

:(

Yes, Keano is of course not fit enough. Don't forget he has been out for over 3 months! No one can be immediately 100% when just come back from such a long lay-off.

It's definitely no problem if you just said he is not match fit. But look again what you have said! "Time to offload him to Celtic in January!", "When Keane gets injured or banned again then we'll start winning again". What you said just like Keano is our biggest liablity and we can't win when he is in the team! Keano has been our most consistent performer for many years now, and I won't be surprised when he get back his form after two or three more matches, he will become our most consistent performer again.

This is really silly. There are so many culprits.
You cant expect Keane to come out of a three month absence and score goals.

Phil has always been a makeshift arrangement.
He is not a permnant solution.

Why are you blaming Keane. The real culprits are
Giggs and RVN.
To make the matters worse Beckham on his part fiddled with a crucial freekick and a corner. He is returning from injury not in form so what was he trying to do.. .

If u take a closer look at these jacks Keano was
better..

Fair enough, Keane needs more time and there are others in the team not playing up to their usual standards either.

However, we did win the European Cup without Roy Keane and did also just put together a ten-match successful run without him, so why he is being rushed back in to the side is puzzling.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing a couple of fresh faces brought in in January and one or two of the long-timers moving on.
