The only problem abt Mickey so far is his "sudden" lose of concentration during games ... other than that it's really difficult to argue that he's one of our best defenders around. ... He's damnnnn quick - which makes his left wing overlap so so efficient ... And you see him safe us again in Basle and yesterday against the shit Longballpool ... he's sere pacy !! ... And since Stam has left, I think he must be the ROCK of our team currently ... I can't see anyone else as solid as him phycically ...

He's a good example of a player who everyone was slating during his first 18 months at OT, who has actually managed to win over most of the fans over the past 2 years. It would be a disgrace if he didn't sign on again.
We've almost never played him as a centre back, but his positioning is usually suspect as left back as he comes in too central - maybe this won't be a problem if central is his actual position! But when he's at centre back we miss his pace and crossing down the left wing. Maybe he should be given the chance to play at centre back a bit more and see how he fares over a longer period. He's certainly got the pace and power, but I'm not yet sure about aerial ability or the interceptions and passing that Blanc has for example.
Didn't Mickey say when he signed he preffered centre back & thats one of the reasons he chose us over the 'very sore losers at the weekend'
