Another Frenchman plying his trade in the FA Barclaycard Premiership, Mikael Silvestre, has hinted that he may leave Manchester United.

The France defender could move unless he is restored to his favoured position at the centre of defence. “If a club offered me the chance to play in my favourite position, I would think about leaving,” he said.

Any comments...not just on his comment about leaving, but also on the possibility of him being moved to the centre?

Those comments are old hat - mid-season if I remember correctly. Beck's was going on about the same 4/5 years and he's still playing right-side instead of central midfield.

Let's face it Mickey doesn't have the concentration levels to be a quality CB, but he has the pace/skill to be a v. good fullback. Fergie knows this.

Agreed, Silvestre's not a great centre-back. He'd never make it at a club as big as United playing there.

i totally agree with you people, i think he is great at LB. He is quite exciting to watch.

According to uwsonline.com he's about to agree a new contract after SAF persuaded him that left back is his best position...
