Watching the Spurs-Bolton match tonight, very impressed by this lad. Better player than Heskey IMO, could be in with a chance of a cap soon.

good match tonight wolf man. Ferdinand certainly made a quick impression! great 2nd goal.
Anderton had a great match, good to see him coming back to form again, him and Teddy have a good understanding. Maybe they'll play together in the WC..

Time and time again I keep waffling on about this lad... He's class... no doubt about it...He was a bit of a Solskjaer in the First Division, Came on with about 20 minutes to go and usually scored blinding goals...

Now that he's in the Premiership he seems to of made a big impact and has found a 1st team place in the side...

Keep watching Ricketts, Im pretty sure that theres more of him to see than what hes shown us so far...

More than likely...he's proved that he can still play at at top level, wouln't see why he shouldn't

Is it still a 22 man squad?
If yes, I'd take Owen, Teddy and the best 2 on form out of Heskey, Cole, Philipps, Fowler and Sutton.

I think SGE has already decided on Owen, Heskey and Fowler though ... we'll see.

Michael Ricketts has impressed me no end, and I still do not see why he is not yet a Bolton regular but more of a Super-Sub (Likeness to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?).
Of course he started today but for some reason Sam Allardice tends to play Holdsworth and other second-rate strikers for Bolton Wanderers who in my opinion are not very good at all and ageing, though ageing may be why Ricketts doesn't play more, because he is about 20 years old.
He was Bolton's top scorer last season with a bag of goals in what was effectively his first real proffesional in the First Division, though you wouldn't have noticed with the amount of goals he knocked in and, with another likeness to Solskjaer, had to problem with stepping off the bench and waiting his turn. This season he has scored about 15 goals in all competitions including the opener against Liverpool, a terrific late leveller against Arsenal and of course that superb goal against Manchester United, so he is maturing well, and is surely a future England reglular.
In fact the latest in the press is Bolton are chasing Brighton striker Bobby Zamora. The 19 (21? <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" /> ) year old is a good young Englishman who was sensational last season in Division 3 scoring 30 goals in all competitions and is an eye for a future but it is a massive step from Division 3 to the Premiership, but one that can be done as Michael Ricketts has demonstrated. Ricketts and Zamora? Sounds exciting but very young - could be future England partnership...

As for Teddy Sheringham, of course he is good enough to play for England but he would definately not be first choice.
England will pick 5 strikers and I would suspect Heskey, Owen, Fowler and possibly Andy Cole would be more or less automatic.
Sheringham is 35 but has proved he can do the business and could well make the initial 26 man squad and even the 22 man squad, but I doubt he would play.

In my CM 01-02 game, Leeds bought him for 21 million pounds. He then broke his leg after 1 match and was out for a year.

Id have him and Owen as first choice strikers, without a doubt.
Uniteds biggest mistake, was not getting rid of Stam, it was getting rid of Teddy. With Teddy in the team we kept the ball and our shape so much better. Spurs are lucky to have him back...*sigh*
