Anybody like him? Finally got around to watching his DVD (Live & Laughing) and I thought it was excellent, some brilliant stuff in it and he executes it superbly too.

Definitely one of the better comedians out there at the moment.

He's very funny, I've got the DVD too.

One of the best new comedians for a while.

When I say I have the DVD what I really mean is I have downloaded a ripped version of the DVD.

I don't own a physical hard copy of the show itself.

How horrible. Where would one go to commit such an atrocious act of piracy?

If someone PM'ed me information along these lines I, for one, would be eternally disgusted!

Watch Dara O Briain Talk Funny DVD. I've seen both and as good as McIntyre is, Dara's stand up is the best of 2008 imo.

Im not convinced by Michael McIntyre.
He is very smart....very quick.......and they are good things for a comedian to have.
On the downside I find him a bit smooth....he has an irritating habit of OVERTLY looking for approval after a gag......"arent I clever?"

Every year someone from the comedy stand up circuit gets him/herself out of the pack and "makes" it. McIntyre did it in 2008.
TV Comedy at the moment seems such as a closed shop at the moment, dominated by production companies like Tiger Aspect and Hat Trick, selling formulas (formulae) to Channel 4 and BBC and being paid fortunes to do so,

It means that we have such shows as QI, Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week, 8 out of 10 cats, Harry Hills Burp.........with a kind of comedy mafiosi appearing on each others shows..........Russell Howard, Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr, Rob Brydon........the list is endless.

In a way its worse than the Comedy (Frankie Howerd, Jimmy Tarbuck, etc) that dominated BBC schedules before alternative comedy revolutionalised things.
Now we have a generation that has emerged AFTER alternative comedy and frankly it proves that revolutions give us more TYRANNY than the TYRANNY they replace.

Fitz, matey, this is the Entertainment forum, not the Current Events ;)

Great comedian...I like his comedy it is stuff which just applies to everyday! He is also quite clean
Got his DVD ages ago loved it!
Want to go see him on his tour!

ahh....yeah I was debating if I should go or not....got tickets to his final show at the O2, some pretty sweet seats too

He is hilarious, totally my type of comedy....doesn't need to cover shit-material with OTT profanities unlike some others

Harry Hill never has other comedians on does he?

I saw him on that show Live at the Apollo

Hes quite good

The laugh-snort-snot-sneeze :lol::lol:

He's very very good

Well structured, and sharp....

Got tickets to see him at the MEN arena in Oct

I'm halfway through it (I've taken to watching my 100% legal downloads on my twice weekly hour long bus journey) and must say it's pretty good.

Got my tickets through the post today - I would usually be excited and happy, but considering I'm going to the last show at the end of November I'm worried I'll have to keep them safe and then be able to find them again in over 6 months time....

Just finished watching his Hello Wembley DVD, was great. Not as good as his first one I don't think but still better than most.

Yeah I'm going to go and watch him sooner rather than later. He's quality.

Also please don't capitalise random words it scares me.

Hey FM does not belong in a Michael McIntyre thread!!!!

He came to Cork a few months ago, but none of my friends or family like him. So I didn't bother going alone for fear of him pointing it out

I think Michael McIntyre is great, but among his fellow comedians he's apparently not liked. I'm not sure why.

Have any of you tried watching Rhod Gilbert? He's very good!

Wasn't impressed with his latest DVD, a lot of jokes I'd already heard him using elsewhere - poor show that.

McIntyre is brilliant, some of his stuff is just class.

I like Rhod Gilbert. His bit out the Royal Navy ad had me in stitches, as did his sex shop experience. "I'm Welsh, we just beat it with a shoe"

He's alright. When he first appeared I found him utterly hilarious, but I must admit I've really started to go off him recently. I think he hit saturation point about nine months ago, and now there's simply too much of him.

It doesn't help that his joke style tends to be quite long and rambly, so if he has a duff story it can get very dull very quickly.

Saw him live at the O2 Arena, was very good.

Read the other day that he made the most money last year out of all the Comedians, DVD sales etc, around 8million quid if I'm not wrong.

He sold 500,000 copies of his DVD
Andy Parsons sold 13,000, around 12,500 more than he expected

Parsons is shite.

I read his book over the weekend. I don't much like him as a comedian but I took a chance on the basis it might be a good laugh like Frank Skinner's. It wasn't. I don't think I laughed once. He just comes across as incredibly needy, insecure and annoying.
