This game is so good it deserves another thread. I'm playing for the second time, this time on the big boss extreme mode (surely theres a more creative way to put it) and at the same time watching my brother go through it when he plays and giving background commentary that can only be attributed to a know it all whose finished it once. The latter actually kept me up till 4 at night the other night despite having college the next morning. I hope Hideo makes another one and if he doesnt continues the legacy possibly in the form of another series. Although it will near impossible for him to top this.
I finally persuaded my brother to play it. And he got what i was saying all along. This is a step above most other games. Its not a run around shoot an alien game, its not a jump from this tree to that tree to that.. wall! game, and its not a game where you get to be yourself (not in a non-gay way). It has everything, it has story, depth, emotion, action, stealth, bosses, tactics and very good art design.
For me only the GTA series and a little known game called Deus Ex had the same impact on me.
Although it is sometimes easy to forget how good snake eater was.
