How are there 17 guests viewing the caf?

I tried to look without logging on and it wouldn't let me?

Just wondering like?

Web crawlers, still don't know how they get in under the radar but we have cut their number down by banning the IPs of some of the more prolific. 17 is a vast improvement from the 50+ we had on at one time.

Web crawlers, they sound a bit suspicious and underhand.....

can you match ip addresses to registered users then?

i think its done through google etc, type in www.redcafe.net +your name, then search it, then when its done, click on the cached and it will bring up google's version of that webpage

Don't people that are on invisible mode pop up under guest status so that other members don't know if they're online or not?

Web crawlers are programs that "spider" the web constantly to keep search engines up to date - usually nothing sinister.

We can match ips to individual posters.

And you only show as a guest if you are not logged in.

No, we can still see invisible posters are on the caf.
