i don't remember prior seasons being as bad. but over the last year or so, the meltdowns to our server have become regular it seems.

How much would a server upgrade cost niall? I think we all need to chip in a few quid to upgrade.

Prior seasons we'd start getting shaky at around 2000 users and go down at 2500. Now we're getting shaky at 2500 and going down at around 3000. So as far as straight users, we're a little bit better, but we've also had a lot more signups since then so I don't know how the numbers look as far as density goes.

money helps obviously, but time is more the issue for Niall at the moment.

He is currently investigating alternatives to the forum software as we have gone as high as we can in the current patches (without installing the buggy upgrades) and also the physical location of the server may be moving & getting h/w upgraded.
