... clearly knows it's gonna happen & brickin it!

Actually McAteer isn't really a very good player. Perhaps he'll follow McCarthy?

wouldn't want to be McAteer in a five a side training game vs Keano!

guess he's figured out the only way Ireland are gonna get to Euro 2004....

I heard mccateer say on talk sport this morning "i get on good with roy...i like roy"

Damm fools arse has gone or hes wanting to stay in the ireland side by butt kissing.

Or both..

"However, you can never question Roy's commitment, talent or experience. But he made the decision to walk away from the World Cup.

''He had his own reasons, and whatever they were, the decision was up to him."

He's still having a bit of a dig there though the scouse cnut - I say fcuk him up Roy <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Normally I wouldn't condone intentionally maiming a fellow professional but in McAteer's case I could make an exception...

Mcatters Irish career s hopefully over, Steven Reid is miles better than him so hopefully the new guy will come in and fuch him out.

Keano the Merciful? Hmm, I don't think so.

Keano is gonna show him what the punishment is for betrayal.  <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Why would McAteer want to get into his "good books"?

Does Keane select the squad for the Ireland team?

What a two faced cnut
After the remarks he has made since Saipan, the prospect of Roy returning must be giving him nightmares :D

There is a good story that was knocking around the Irish press scene for a while, MacAteer came down for breakfast with the Ireland team and sat down near to Keano and said "Alright mate", to which Keano replied "feck off I'am not your mate"

Keano's pure class.

is McAteer the captain of the irish side at the moment? i thought i saw him with the armband at the WC.

i wonder how McAteer will live with having his captaincy stripped to the man he wanted out of the team in the first place. i think he should stick his head up his butt in shame.

Yeah he's the captain.
I'm not convinced Keane wants to play for the republic again. I would prefer if he didn't. He is reaching the stage of his career when the extra games will take a lot out of him. The way Keane plays the game requires a great deal of stamina and as fit as he is, the older he gets the more time between games he will need to recover. The extra 10 games or so, will only harm his recovery time. Especially with United doing well in Europe, that can mean an extra 17 games.

Being Irish and having put up with the heartache of the last few months I would love to see him back in green....
You read the rubbish written in the letters pages of the Irish times today and yesterday and you could see why he might decide to retire. But he has an awful lot of fans here and ultimately mccarthy did get the boot because of what happened in saipan. Anybody who knows which wayy is up knows Roy got us to the world cup not mccarthy......... I hope he can do the same for euro 2004. Having said that I would swap us winning euro 2004 to see Roy lift the champions league trophy just the once.... he more than deserves it....

I don't the FAI have done enough to convince Roy that they want him to play again. Everyone knows that Keane walking out caused McCarthy to go but the FAI have handled the situation very badly. They should have tried to mediate between Roy and Mick after the World Cup and see if a compromise could have been reached, however unlikely. It is the least that someone like Roy who has done so much for Irish football deserves

The fact that heads havent rolled in the FAI is sickening. Whether you back Roy or Mick you will get a common consensus here that the FAI are rubbish......
To be honest for me tis the reds over the greens any day of the week............
