Manchester United are handing a trial to 16-year-old Livingston forward Matthew Knox.
The teenager was on the bench for Livingston at the weekend as they lost 4-1 to Rangers in the Scottish Championship but travelled to Manchester on Monday and will spend the week at United's Carrington training complex.
Club coaches have been alerted to Knox by scouts in Scotland with Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea also among the clubs to have checked on him. Indeed, he has already been to Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham prior to United's invite.
Knox became Livingston's youngest ever player when he made his debut with a late run-out in the 4-1 Boxing Day win over St Mirren, coming just four days after his 16th birthday, beating the club record set by Leigh Griffiths.
Knox has been at Livingston since he was 11 having been given his chance by former Celtic and Portsmouth forward Mark Burchill who had invited him in on a work experience placement.
He caught the eye in the summer with his display in a friendly against Real Sociedad and that has prompted invites to Premier League sides. He was looked after by Everton captain Phil Jagielka during his week at their Finch Farm training ground while Tottenham allowed him to watch the first team train after playing in games for their youth sides. He also managed to score while at Liverpool.
United staff will assess his level this week before deciding whether to follow up their interest.
