Anyone seen this leftback from Portsmouth play yet? Big things are being said about him & it wont be long before he's in the premiership. From the clips ive seen of him he's certainly the best left-sided player outside the premiership. Whoever buys him will have a future england leftback on their hands for sure.

I've heard of him!
He was actually featured on Sky Sports last weekend and they seem to rate him very highly.
It would be interesting to see him play at a higher level, but he's still young.
If he continues to play well in a Portsmouth side with the likes of Paul Merson in it, there's every chance he'll be called up for the England under-21 side soon.
If he does well there then there's every chance a bigger club will come in for him. there are not many quality English left-sided players around.
By the way - I used to live in Portsmouth and still get a few copies of their evening paper sent to me and they are raving about his performances this season even though Merson is taking a lot of the credit for Portsmouth's form.
He's actually the sort of player it would be worthwhile for a big club to take a gamble on right now - like United did with Lee Sharpe. in a couple of years time his value might have shot through the roof. Might be better to get him now when he's still raw as all the potential is there. Guess Arsenal will buy him then...

you know youve hit nail on head there, he reminds me of Lee Sharpe the way he plays.
Lets hope thats the only thing about him that reminds us of lee sharpe!

I remember seeing some footage of him at Luton last season he looked to good for Div 3 stood out.
Portsmouth picked him up for £400.000.00 I thought at the time that was good business.

I've seen him play. Very quick, gets forward a lot. Good on the ball and can take people on. Powerful left-foot. Very similar to Mikky Silvestre in playing style. ie uses his speed to recover defensively.

I predict big things for him if he continues the way he's started. Pompey absolutely stole him from Luton and the Luton fans were not too pleased about it.

He needs this season with Pompey to gain experience.

I've not seen Tierney play so cannot compare the two players.

I know this guy from CM01-02. He does really enter the England team several years later, so he must be good! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

But honestly speaking, with both A.Cole and W.Bridge (both under 22) in the England team, I don't think any other young players of this generation can easily break into the team. Anyway, if this guy is really that good, why is he still in 1st divison?

Portsmouth only bought him this year and hes stood out in the 1st. He'll be in the premiership sooner rather than later, hopefully with Portsmouth
