I had a search for another thread in the football forum but couldn't find one.

#Wolves reject £9m deal from West Ham for Jarvis.That's £6m + £3m in un-guaranteed add-ons. Club reject £12m-plus from S'land for Fletcher.

Crazy money for a really mediocre player. If they bought someone of that standard from Spain or Germany he'd cost a couple of million at most.

This is standard for West Ham or Stoke. They buy mediocre players from within the league on a markup price. Wolves are down a league now but they probably still have the PL mentality as they aren't in any financial rush to sell players. Most likely want to win the Championship.

Crazy money for such a limited player.

Whereas, Michu, who got into double figures in La Liga, cost significantly less.

I'd say he is pretty decent but not more than that. 5-7 million quids would be fair.

As for Steven Fletcher... 12 million+ and you reject it?:wenger:

He's not mediocre at all really. 5m seems about fair.

Suprised Liverpool arent in for him. Maybe they're waiting for the bidding to increase to £20m.

They've had bids for Doruis De Vries turned down

As for Jarvis he's a better option than Downing

Omar is rumoured to have over took at Molineux, that would make sense.

Have to say I'm a fan of Jarvis - he tortured us a couple of times in the past

Could be a good quality Matthew Etherington style player for some clubs

Wolves could potentially have around £20 million to rebuild their squad. They should get playoffs at least with that.

He's good, not limited but an impact player. When he gets on the ball he makes things happen but he could look to get on the ball a bit more and be more influencial

£10.75 million fee to West Ham.

The league is fecking mad. I'd rather have an all-foreign XI (which we're not far off now) than even contemplate playing these ludicrous fees for rank average players.

Few teams have done this for a long time. West Ham, QPR, Aston Villa and Sunderland come to mind. At least Sunderland sell big as well.

Well we spent over 7m on Bebe. At least Jarvis is experienced in the league.

He is an average player though. But is capable of the odd good game

Amazing business for Wolves. If they sell those two for £25m and buy a couple of players like Jordan Rhodes and a winger or two, they should be well set to go back up and make a reasonable profit.

Jarvis and Fletcher for the same amount we paid for RVP. World has gone crazy.

They both had three years left on their contracts, hence the selling club being in a strong position with a short period left in the transfer window.

The RVP situation was comopletely different. If he had three years left on his contract he wouldn't even be playing for United.

Let's not compare every transfer to Bebe.

Bebe was a mysterious deal we don't know anything about. No way we signed him for 7 million because he was a special talent. He looked like he never played football before in his life.
