Great Sci-Fi RPG with some good gameplay.

Game's universe is absolutely amazing. Pc gamers should be delighted and grateful because that game was the reason why some people bought X-BOX 360.

A lot of XB360 exclusives go to the PC, I don't see why you find this odd? When Microsoft say exclusive, they mean "on consoles", or rather "not on Playstation".

I suppose that this will eliminate the technical issues the XB360 version has.

Not many games from X-Box on PC: Halo, Gears Of War, Mass Effect, Lost Planet...

Great game, one of the best ive played in the last 2 years.

Tempted to go back and finally get that Insanity achievement, but ive finished it so many times already that I remember every scripted line now

The "Bring Down the Sky" expansion will be available for download at launch as well

Goodbye summer I guess then

Not really, it van vary. Especially 360 to PC.

Well in the case of BioWare, PC versions of KOTOR and Jade Empire were released a year after their xbox counterparts.

But hey, if it means that PC gamers get to try the brilliant Mass Effect earlier, then I cant really complain.

It's not really the actual code port, is the bloody compatibility issues and testing that takes any real time.

Definitely. It's one of those 'exclusives' that all gamers really should play.

For some bizarre reason, i stopped playing this fantastic game when i found out i was near the end of the storyline, despite not completing all of the additional stuff.
I suppose i'm too used to Final Fantasy.

Mass Effect better than KOTOR? I couldn't get into Jade Empire.

Jade Empire was shite, and this is coming from a BioWare fanboy such as meself.

If you liked KOTOR then Mass Effect is a must-get imo. In all honesty it isnt that much different, its alot more cinematic and most the kotor elements are still there, but there are a few changes here and there such as the combat system and the convo system, which is by far the best in any game ive played.

Cracking story too. Go for it.

You tried Losy Odyssey mate, Ive been playing that recently and at times I can swear im playing final fantasy.

Opened a thread on it a while back but nobody seemed to have paid much attention! :D
Apparently, it's very similar to that of FFX and it seems like i might have to get it but i'll probably end up waiting a bit. The reason for the similarity is probably because many members of SQUARE were involved in the making of the game, plus the fact that Nobuo Uematsu did the soundtrack.

If im honest mate its not that great a game. Its got nice visuals, a great storyline but the gameplay feels so recycled and out of date. Still its worth a shot if you like your Final Fantasy. Was abit disappointed too seeing as I expected great things from this game. Abit like the Fable feeling.

If Mass Effect is even better than KOTOR, then It's going to be best game on PC in 2008 because there will be no GTA IV on this platform.

Can't wait.

Fantastic game, I preferred kotor for the star wars story line. But Mass effect was a fantstic game to play through. Planet exploration gets a bit boring but the story is good.

Interesting opinion, usually people such as I seem to think the Mass Effect storyline was alot more superior.

And yep planet exploration needs a major revamp in the sequel, the only worthwhile locations were the Citadel and the three other storyline planets. Every other planet was the same planet recycled with slighty different terrain.

Really ? Not good...

I hope it's not that bad because I've heard this game has amazing universe.

If it's overrated, I'll be very disappointed.

i loved it, spent a whole weekend playing it and completing it, i got to level 55 i think

Oh dont get me wrong, the universe is stunning and the space travel feature is pretty unique. Most the game takes place in around 4-5 planets (as in KOTOR) with each planet being relatively large, with settlements. The other 30+ or so mini-planets and spacestations are part of sidequests where you would travel to the planet, ride around in your mako vehicle (fun!), find a base, wipe it out, loot the goods and you're on your way.

It sounds boring but its quite fun, the storyline immerses you quite abit anyway. You wont be disappointed unless you've expected this game to be something incredible and out of this world; I literally followed this game everyday since it was announced till the day it was released, I was therefore slightly disappointed since I expected so much, but didnt get it all. Thats the problem with overhyping video games I guess, same with Halo 3.

Dont miss out on it though, was my game of the year last year, and miles better than Halo 3.

Sounds like great fun, RedKaos.

I've heard that gameplay is also unique. When you fight with robots or something else, it's like Third Person Shooter... In KOTOR, it was just classic round RPG fight.

The combats brilliant, its like a completely different game. If you played gears of war then its very similar to that, run around, take cover, shoot behind corners; its a tactical shooter in its own right.

Ok ill shut up now, try the game yourself :p

Feckin brilliant... I have no questions. I'll just wait for the PC realease.
