I have been reading in some papers that supposedly SAF is set on buying Marin from Werder. Fee mentioned around 16 million pounds. His contract runs out in 2013. More probable that if this happened it will be in the summer not in January.
I have watched a few matches with him. Impressed with his talent.

What say you, Yay or Nay? Any more info on the player from those in the know?
 
Watched little of him. Looked super talented to me. Not sure of his physique but definitely very gifted.
 
Smaller than Tosic. I couldn't handle Bremen losing another star player, in shit as it is.
 
He's wonderfully talented but people definitely seem to skim over the fact he's struggled hugely when his own team struggles, he's never been the one key influence in the team.

With Ozil going it was his chance to step up and he hasn't, in fact the only player that looked like trying to take control is Arnautovic (from what I've seen).

Did anyone watch him at WHL? Had a couple of nice early runs then just completely disappeared out of the game. He's clearly their best player but doesn't show that often enough.
 
I've only seen one full game of his in the Uefa cup last season and he was superb. Ran the show. But we don't need a winger. And if we were to buy a winger I would much prefer Alexis Sanchez or Eden Hazard :drool:
 
If we are going to break the bank i'd much rather we go all out on Pastore.

let me guess..he doesn't have only 12 months left on his contract, hence why he's more expensive than ozil? Because there's no way he's worth more strictly on talent.

Marin is better than Sanchez.

Maybe. I haven't seen much of Marin. But he isn't good enough to earn a spot in the Germany first 11 so he can't be that good. Every time I've Sanchez I've been nothing but impressed. Love his directness.

Only because podolski is so prolific and was willing to put in a defensive shift. During qualifying he was often used as an impact sub against tired legs.

He's very direct, loves to take his man on and usually has a good end product. His weakness lies in handling a full seasons workload and handling the spotlight. Also without watching Bremen not sure his defensive responsibilities.

Talent wise is pretty debatable, but ozil is obviously ahead in application.
 
Jury's still out on this one - let him establish himself at Werder. He's not even a nailed-on starter for the Northeners yet.


Bags of ability, but needs a little more time in the ''Bundesliga'', I think.
