My plan would be to copy the Parma system where Arrigo Sacchi leads the administrative procedures and a young promising coach (Cant remember his name sorry)leads the team.

I would promote SAF upstairs were he can be a perfect link between the directors and the team while bringing Mc Claren for the team's setup and transfers.

Both have loads of respect for each other and Mclaren would love the now and then advices of SAF(altough the team would be lead by Mclaren)

I love Mclaren. I see him as a born tactician and motivator who will learn from his mistakes and make us proud. He built a wonderful team at Middlesbrough bringing the respect to a decimated
team

My conclusion is this

SAF would lead the coaching and scouting staff, the discipline of the team andthe youth setup

Mclaren will be responsable for the tactical side of the team and the transfer market

should SAF 'step up' he should be removed from having anything to do with the United football team entirely. He shouldn't have any interference in how the game is run or who should play for the team or who to bring in.

For him to stay involve would make the next manager unconfortable IMO. SAF is an intimidating figure and the new manager will not have enough freedom to lead the team.

I think the best job for SAF would be somewhat like that of Charlton. He's a public figure and will do a lot of good for team travelling around the world promoting United. Charlton came to Thailand a couple of times and have been absolutely marvelous to the kids. he actually created a lot of fans for United with the Thai kids.

He would also get free holidays - for him and the whole family - whereever he goes.. just exactly what he's been wanting.

I wouldnt spoil SAF commitment and experience like that.

He would be brilliant with the coaching staff, supervise the youth system and lead the scouting team ( something he used to do in the past but cannot because of his increasing commitment)

He would work perfectly with Mc Claren who would relish to have his old mentor at his side.

Remember that when you lead Manutd youre leading not a team but an empire.

This setup won us the treble so its a guarantee.

it sounds like that although the official positions you have given them don't exactly say it.

Personally id love to see Robbo and Sparky in charge. a dream scenario imo.
Not certain it would work but i think most fans would be happy with Hughesie in charge, would be worth a try imo.

he seems to be doing a good job with Wales.. but does he have enough credentials for this job? he never succeeded with us in Europe except for the sole trophy in the Cup Winners Cup..

it'd be a dream come true, but with maximum risks involved!

and robbo failed miserably at Boro later his in career there where McClaren seems to be cruisin'.. it's quite clear who'll be better for the job at United IMO.

Btw I would like Cantona with U 13s can you imagine the massive influence he can give to them?

My ideal managemant is a mix of experience ( SAF Fininho and Queroz)
Charisma and motivation (Choccy, Cantona Shmicke and Robson ) and Innovation and intelligence (Mclaren)

I wouldnt like to be a first team player (that doesnt give his 101% on the pitch) facing such a staff

I think its essential we get someone who understands the club and gets respect from the players. Hes had European experience and not that it matters but its not his fault we didnt succed in Europe, the CWC was a big thing back then btw.
I think Robbo may be better cut out as an assistent, not sure how well they get along (i like to think their best buddies ;) ) but it could work imo.

There is no guarantee. This setup worked together for a total of three months during the treble season. Yes, it was the crucial three months, and no, I wouldn't take anything from McLaren, but it may not be as dreamy as you imagine.
