Did I hear this right - seemingly 4 time stage winner of this year's tour de france is the only member of teh Cycling team not to win a medal.

I would fecking beat the head off Bradley Wiggins for fecking up in teh Madison. Would have been better picking someone fresher

They should have picked someone fresher than Wiggins. But who am I to argue - Wiggins and Cavendish are World Champions at the Madison.

Yeah but Wiggins was nearly in everything while Cavandish was just there for that 1 race.

I wouldn't feel too sorry to him, Cavendish has become a very rich man since Le Tour

You reckon??

What makes you say that??

I'd say he would prefer a medal in his back pocket and celebrating with his friends rather then have 4 stage wins which he can have another year

Have you ever heard of "Criteriums"? They are races held in towns in France, Belgium & Holland after the TdF. They have 1 or 2 every evening for a number of weeks. They pay the riders anything between 10k-50k per race. I heard that Cavendish has been doing a few..

Fair play to him if that is the case Rams, but money is one thing but to win Olympic gold is with you for life, where as Stage winners are soon forgotten.

Do you remember all the names of Britain’s team pursuit riders?
You can look it up of course.

A guy who won a Gold Medal at the 1956 Olympics (could be wrong with year)died a few miles from where I was born a year or two ago.

Biggest Funeral ever. Martin Early (2 time stage winner in the Tour) opened a business beside me and everyone wanted to see Sean Kelly or Stephen Roche
