Marcus Rashford (out)

Give me strength.

Just because someone doesn't like that the manager talks so openly about stuff like this means I have any support for Rashford. I don't at all.

But no, in my opinion, stuff like this doesn't help. But grow up, it's hardly me saying the manager should drop standards or accept players not working hard. Just don't be telling the media every single fecking thing that's happening behind the scenes.

Nah. It helps in some cases when you want to push out a player to move. You made them uncomfortable and clearly beyond necessary show them they're not wanted.

Behind the door once for the player. Out in the open to tell clubs that now's your time because we're open to all kinds of offers.

Enough with the courtesy. Rashford showed us none with his interviews.

It's already harder through no fault of the club. Do you think potential buyers are blind to his attitudes and behaviours?

Of course not. However, there’s a difference between having some concerns about it and hearing his current manager say that he’d prefer to pick a 63 year old because it’s so bad.

How do you think Amorim’s comments help us sell him?

Do people think up until Amorims comments yesterday other clubs thought things were fine here with Rashford and the club?

If you're trying to offload your highest paid player midway through a season I think it's safe to say something has gone wrong and the club want the player out ASAP. I don't think Amorims comments yesterday will play that big a deal in whether or not Rashford goes.

Barcelona will have already known we're desperate to get rid.

I thought yesterday was probably Amorim just being annoyed at the PR pieces last week hailing Rashford for training well, which he evidently wasn't.

Clubs are not stupid. They can see the situation clear as day when we coach potatoes can read redcafe and find it out.

They know there's no competition for Rashford because he's not worth the money. United has been practically whoring him all out openly. Didn't see any offers even at bottom bargain take him from us plea, any amount will do

Driving the price down

I don’t permanently moan. I wanted ETH out after the cup final. I wanted Ruben to come in. I want him to get his players. But bloody hell, seems like if one dares suggest something the coach said is disagreeable they deserve to be lambasted to have more of ETH and Rashford. Both of whom I wanted gone. No, for me, this is warranted just to improve things. Plenty of other ways for it to be done.
But we cannot improve things unless we have standards back and players finally getting their act together, train and work hard and give their all during the games. This goes hand in hand and in order to establish that kind of culture again, he has to be super tough on everyone who's not willing to work. And Rashford is pissing on the club currently and RA is absolutely right to call him out like that. It is a disgrace and shows that this club has so much cleaning up to do. And, hopefully, it finally opens the eyes of those fans who still believe this is a problem that can be solved overnight

If he’s waiting for Barca he’ll be waiting a long time. Surely they can see they don’t need him. They’ve got a very young and quality team.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Ruben saying what he said.
What did he say? that if "a" player doesn't put in the effort in training and in their lifestyle then he would rather put the goalkeeping coach in the team than them! so what is the problem with that, he didn't specify he would rather have the GK coach on the bench over Rashford, the reading is clear, Rashford is not putting in the work and/or is doing things in his life that are impacting on his contribution to the team, it is within Rashford's power to change these things

It puts pressure on Rashford's camp and our negotiation team to find a solution. Amorim wants him out now. He must be a really bad influence to have around the dressing room.

Its my opinion Rashford has a problem. In this day and age no professional footballer who is an elite athletes should touch alcohol let alone go out and get hammered before a game or training. They are paid obscene money to stay in peak physical condition. Whilst hes not on the team the temptation to drink is there as he clearly enjoys a drink as his behaviour has shown.
Amourins comments are what he thinks but he shouldnt say them in public, we will never shift Rashford on if the world thinks hes a lazy waster. Id say Rashford and Amourins relationship is now on par with Sancho and ETH. It wouldnt surprise me if Rashfords played his last game in a red shirt.

No, we want him to understand that the club is trying to get rid of this player and not make that process harder.

Of course not. However, there’s a difference between having some concerns about it and hearing his current manager say that he’d prefer to pick a 63 year old because it’s so bad.

I feel like people said these same things when ETH was slagging off Sancho. In fact they deffo did.
Sancho still managed to get moves to Dortmund and Chelsea…

We’re not struggling to shift Rashford cos Amroim said some mean things about him in a press conference. It’s the £350,000 wages that’s the struggle…

And as if RA comments will have an impact on that. It is plain obvious that Rashford has huge issues and is a gamble for every club - hence no one came up with a decent offer

It's been going on for too long to consider that Amorim's saying all these things without the club's consent. We don't know what has transpired behind the scenes or what information he (and the club) is privy to. If Rashford and his brother are looking for another 350K p/w deal across Europe, for example, what Amorim says doesn't affect our desire to sell. It just reaffirms the club's stance on the matter. Sancho took an unprecedented leave of absence in the middle of the season (fully paid) to sort himself out, continued to stink the place after his return, fell out with the manager who allowed him the time off (like Rashford, the manager believed that he wasn't applying himself in training), and he still found a new employer. Why? Because he was willing to take a pay cut.

Yeah, its 90% his massive wages. Teams will take a punt on a player with an attitude problem in the same way managers will take a punt on United despite knowing the job is a complete nightmare. To be at the top of any business requires a certain level of arrogance. A lot of them will think that they are special. They can tame Rashford. Get him performing again. And if they can, he will score goals and with the amount of money sloshing around, thats worth a hell of a lot. A manager doesn't care how much a player costs up to a point either. If a player helps him keep his job he will be happy.

Wow, Amorim is really pushing him out. And I really don't get Rashford. Accept lower wages for half a season and give yourself a fresh start. Perform well and you clubs may be ready to accept your wage demands because clearly they aren't ready to do that atm. Prove Amorim wrong.

I’ve no issues with what Amorim says, it’s about time our players heard some home truths. It’s not unreasonable to expect someone who is paid the money he is to be ultra professional at all times, to put the effort in on and off the pitch.

Believe me if I didn’t work hard enough in my job they’d make it very uncomfortable for me to stay as well!

Other clubs aren’t stupid, they see the issues they would be taking on if they make a move for him irrespective of Amorims comments.

I recall the club bringing Sancho back into the squad over the summer and even playing him in some pre-season games, with news reports being that ETH had welcomed him back and they’d put aside their differences - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c1rw8qrq81vo.amp

In my view, we pretty clearly did that to make him appear a more attractive prospect to purchase, rather than any genuine intention to play him going forwards. I don’t recall ETH slaughtering him in press conferences all summer when we were trying to sell him to Chelsea.

No problem with him saying this sort of thing as long as everyone else has bought in. It’s not an issue. Is the verbal diarrhea going to end up with him making several comments he will probably wish he’d kept in? Aye probably, but it’s entertaining, refreshing and I love listening to him talk.

Calling the lazy footballer out is exactly what has been needed for a long time. I love the fact he’s done it. ETH was right with Sancho and RA is right with Rashford. Can’t wait to see the back of him now. Unfortunately, I just don’t see us shifting him on so then he’s an expensive reserve team player.

No one is surprised though. He stopped caring a long time ago and is only a part time footballer

Yeah and Neymar hasn't played in about 2 years because his fitness has gone. And Shaw's only played like 5 games since this time last year. Is Shaw not more talented than anyone we have on the left side of defence?

Not sure what you're on about, but Rashford played a total of 3057 mins last season, 4304 the season before, minutes on the pitch isn't really as concern but performances are. He's 27, turning 28 this year, and he hasn't performed well for close to two years now. Talking about him as one of our most talented players is a bit far fetched at this stage when he clearly hasn't been able to translate that into actual performances. Maybe he can do an all star team with Sancho and Ravel, Lingard is still a young talent but give it a few years and he might be eligible

I guess Andy Mitten's report about all our previous managers having issues with Rashford was spot on then. Amorim the only manager to have the balls to properly call him out in public.

Because he has an attitude problem. If he was going to sort himself out and put in the work and effort, why wouldn't he just do that at United, on his full salary. This is what people don't seem to understand. An attitude problem is an attitude problem. Its not the sort of thing you just magic away. He can sit in the stands at United for the next 3 years and get paid his full salary or he can take a likely paycut elsewhere and risk removing all doubt that hes finished as a top player. That will 100% be playing on his mind.

Hes been at United his whole life. He doesn't know any different. No matter how arrogant and blinded people are, I think pretty much every has that inkling deep down that what people are saying about them is right. In Rashfords case he will be scared that he can't do it anywhere else and his career will fizzle out. Hes currently still in the delusion stage where he thinks all the top clubs in the world want him.

I don't think Amorim will have been telling any club anything they didn't already know. Fans have been talking about his workrate and lack of intensity for ages now, it's been obvious when you've been watching.

If Amorim is stating facts and there is no reason why he would lie then Rashford has basically downed tools , hard to see a way for him back into the team even if a deal with some other club does not come of before the end of the week.

He's a player on massive wages with a poor attitude and work rate and we are absolutely desperate to get rid of him.

The only way he goes now is on a loan and if we agree to pay about 75% of his wages to play somewhere else!

I find it hilarious that people are blaming Amorim. This can all change if Rashford just puts in the work, but that is too much to ask it seems. The other clubs have their own scouts, and the stats are there ro show just how poor Rashford has been. Clubs don't want to put that much money on Rashford on his current performance levels.

There are clearly players that Amorim does not rate and have no future here, like Antony, Malacia, Casemiro, Eriksen, etc. Yet they are in the squad and were still getting minutes because their attitude was right. The fact that out of the many players that have no future here, Rashford is the only one being left out of the squad entirely says a lot of just how poor he must be in training.

That is not exactly what you say during transfer window, when you need to sell. Not that there is a club that wants him, but if you say he is working hard, getting better, blah, jada, maybe, just maybe some suckers might buy it and then buy him for more than peanuts, cause he is "working hard".
What happens when transfer window shuts? Think SJR & Co. will allow mr. ManUtd to sit on his ass on those wages and not play? No! He/they will tell Ruben he has to play. What then, after all these words...
Clubs have professional scouts working for them, you have pundits on TV regularly calling out Rashford's effort or the lack thereof, you have memes of opposition players running around Rashford while he does nothing, you have even the most gullible fans finally admitting the man's head is not in it.

Ruben has not exposed anything anyone doesn't know. If he answered that he's doing well in training, the next Q is so why isn't he playing? Then what?

If Rashford doesn’t leave the club this month it is not because of Amorim’s comments.

I think it’s a last ditch attempt to get Marcus to face the reality that he is not getting back in this current team so he needs to take whatever opportunities are available to go play some football elsewhere.

If he says he is ‘working hard’ then he would be on the bench or getting some minutes off the bench. Clubs aren’t stupid, they know what they’re getting with rashford. It’s literally all just down to finances.

Reassuring the Turkish window is open until mid Feb. Surely one of those teams would take a punt on him if his move to Barca fails. Would be quite the humbling experience for Rashy though.

Hoping he moves on. I just can’t see Jim and the rat pack allowing Amorim to keep Rashford sidelined after the window shuts, they’ll want him on the pitch earning his wage.
