Marcus Rashford (out)

Looks unlikely.

You are the most petty person on this forum by an absolute mile. It's so sad.

We will see, there will be backlash from what he said by all of Rashfords friends in the media. Especially with our forwards still misfiring. If Amorim does stay strong then good on him.

That is not exactly what you say during transfer window, when you need to sell. Not that there is a club that wants him, but if you say he is working hard, getting better, blah, jada, maybe, just maybe some suckers might buy it and then buy him for more than peanuts, cause he is "working hard".
What happens when transfer window shuts? Think SJR & Co. will allow mr. ManUtd to sit on his ass on those wages and not play? No! He/they will tell Ruben he has to play. What then, after all these words...

Timestamped for the Rashford question.

He's had a long week, it was a relief to win, and that was the last question.

I think he's made another gaffe and will regret what he said later. Amorim is too straightforward with the media for this own good. This is not going to help us if we don't manage to find a seller. Or if we're negotiating.

He's shown him the door in front of the world. Just leave. You're not wanted. If he has any professional pride he will take the current best offer on the table and leave.

Not being petty at all. Ruben just proved exactly what I was saying.

Yet another huge mistake by the club offering him a new deal in summer, so many of us saw it a mile off, have said how poor his attitude has become for the last few years, yet the club couldn't see it?

If Mitten was right regarding past managers complaining about his attitude, I don't understand why we have continued to pander to him and stroke his ego.

Glad Amorim has the balls to drop him and make sure the higher ups are forced to sell him.

So all our prodigies have turned into caricatures.
Ravel
Pogba
Mason,
Lingard
Marcus.
I guess Marshal.
Is everything ok in our setup in developing them as proper adults?

I think it probably speaks to his frustrating with the clubs total inability to find a buyer. I just don't think there are any takers so this is how he takes his frustration out.

Nothing at all wrong with what he said.

I think those words from Amorim are too harsh. Can’t see how they help us in any way. Even though I completely agree with him.
Why are the words harsh? Sugarcoating the problems and letting the inmates run the asylum has led to the current state for our club.

If Rashford had an ounce of self respect, he would do better but instead paying his PR team to spin a favorable narrative.

If that's a real quote it's incredibly damning.

Too right. We, as fans, should have been this way with him a long time ago. He's been taking the mick with his effort and performances for a long time despite being the highest earner and one of our supposed talisman.

The excuses ran dry years ago and we deserve better, look at the fans that trek up and down the country singing their hearts out for the team and in return he serves up the type of performances he has. As one of our biggest stars and a homegrown lad, he should have shown fight on and off the pitch, but he fights via ridiculously transparent articles from journalists.

If he is to get anything from us again he needs to earn that trust and love back but he hasn't to date and a few tears after a cup final and a raft of articles from Henry Winter is not enough currency. I'd be shocked if he found any sort of redemption here and he barely deserves an opportunity to let us down again.

I love how some of you have a go at Amorim for telling the truth, Rashford hasn’t made the bench for how long now and do we think clubs are blind and stupid? What he said tonight will make no difference, no clubs are even willing to pay half of his salary on loan ffs.

Finally a manager who is holding the players accountable.

100% with Amorin, give 100% or don't play. This is what we need to turn our team around. We need fighters with 100% commitment to the cause

A hypothetical we probably at least need to entertain now... If there is absolutely no market for him, and he refuses to go to Saudi, what exactly do you do with a player happy to sit on this contract for 3 years?

Makes you wonder if there's a viable offer there from a lower club and Amorim is trying to force him to accept it.

These comments hardly make a move easier if not.

I don't really see the problem. Amorim has left the door open for Rashford to return. He said that the interview wasn't simply down to Rashford but also people around him that might not always have his best interest at heart. He also said it would've been good to have him as an option today. It's not like the door is completely closed, he's just saying that Rashford has to change as he's not going to change his standards or he won't be involved. Which will also work in the sense that it makes it quite clear that Rashford has to make a decision, either lower your requirements and move in january, buckle up and start giving everything or you don't play.

Manc born and bred
Academy player
Feeds the kids
Bankers and accountants who ren the club like marketing agency saw him as marketable asset
Half Of English media on speed dial
Overhyped by media and army of fanbois
Protected by Ed, Arnold...and ex United players
Made mr. Man United, poster boy

Nothing more to say about his character that we don't already know. If he's genuinely serious about wanting to get back into the England team, then he'd be realistic about going to a team that's gonna give him that platform to perform and play every week

Instead, it seems he'd prefer to go live a diva-like lifestyle in Barcelona, regardless of if he's playing or not.

Or there are absolutely none, and this is him voicing his frustration because he's stuck with a player too lazy to even train properly.

Entertain what? The club needs to stop acting like it has no rules or principle for underperforming overpaid players. We have been entertaining him for ages. Its time he takes some responsibility. So far he has done nothing but being unprofessional and ungrateful.

I doubt he would want to rot (and not even on the bench). His ego wont let it. His agent wont let it because while he gets money, his value decreases rapidly the more he is not even included in the squad. And the value here includes his public image, commerciability, career length, etc. He loves his PR "our Marcus". The Wythenshawe boy has been wronged.

To be honest I’m sick to fecking death of fans worrying about managers calling these payers out. Happened with Jose, the sheep in our fanbase sided with the players and happy clapped twats like Pogba. He got fired but was proven right

Same with Rangnick. Fans didn’t like it, he got sacked, proven correct.

It’s not a gaffe, he’s putting it out there because there’s nothing to lose. If he dresses it up a certain way then fans are still in delusion over it all, just like they have been all these years with so many bad players. Fans want us to clear out the dead wood, then don’t like it when a coach lays down a marker and calls out a player who is fooling everyone.

Good on him. Force the club to have to do something about it fit once, don’t let them hide behind indecision and inactivity over selling “big names” just like they did with Pogba all those years.

It’s time for everyone to get real about things and stop pretending. No club with their salt doesn’t know about Rashford no matter what he says to media. The question for them is whether they can bring more from him in a new environment, or whether he’s worth a punt. We’re kidding nobody by saying one thing and leaving him out every week.

Amen. Stop mollycoddling these feckers and the fans need to stop enabling it. Force him out, don’t criticise the coach for demanding certain standards.

Expecting the Henry Winter tweet in the following days.
Heh. Henry Winter isn’t working for any major papers again yet, is he? Probably making enough freelancing for Rashford on this saga.
