Yeah another pathetic lifeless performance from him. Has there ever been a player to play for United that has shown less interest in playing for us? And him supposedly a huge United fan. If he had half the effort of someone like Chicharito he’d be some player.

Fergie would have sold him years ago.

His attitude and effort can only be described as listless.
I just hope that the new coach realises what we, the fans have seen for the last few years. And moves him out.

But my fear is that because Zirkzee and Hojlund are so poor, he has to keep Rashford.

Would have had 2 and the winner if garnacho passes instead of trying to score himself when on the counter.

He scored, which to his credit came from him actually making that run. He then played exactly as he has for the last few season and boy has he lost whatever explosive or general pace he had. Got outrun numerous times comfortably, once to a player who was probably one of Ipswich's slowest.

He’s done here. In this Amorim system the only position he has a chance at is number 9, and he just doesn’t have the quality we need for that position.

I feel as long as he is here he will get played. Will be like a Rooney situation where we field him although he is way past it. Not sure Amorim will have the balls to drop him for good.

He'll have plenty more chances to prove himself under Amorim mostly because our options upfront are piss poor.

But I don't think it will matter we'll see the same old Radford. I expected an electric performance, new manager run your socks off trying to impress specially after scoring so soon but it seems he isn't bothered. Too lazy, he's not even fast anymore and technically he's not great. Basically he lost the one attribute he had in him.

We'll be moved on in the summer of we're lucky enough to find someone willing to pay his wages.

Unless there is a massive change in his attitude he's most likely done at this level. To be able to half arse it at this level you need a massive amount of talent and that is not something Rashford has ever had.

If he (Amorim) doesn’t then that says a lot.
He put in a good shift for the 15 mins after he cored and then was the same anonymous player we are used to.
Also nobody with functioning eyes could ever describe him as quick. Outpaced by chunky Ipswich fullbacks throughout the game.

Think some of the criticism is a bit much. He wasn't great, but if Hojlund or Zirkzee start today do we even score? Made some good runs in the first half which no one picked up and if Garnacho squares it earlier he gets a tap in for the second.

And there I was defending his supposed physical decline on X. And he treats the game like a 9 to 5 on top of that. I don't think he has enough goals in him to hush the critics.

He's a disgrace and needs to get the feck out of this club as soon as possible.

Shocking as he stopped working after 10 mins. Time to sell for good

That is literally what he did, a goal and couple of big effort runs in the first few minutes, then he was done.

Better than most weeks I suppose, but Amorim hopefully has him worked out now.

Even if he wanted to work hard, I don't think he can. 19 matches this season and he has only played 90 minutes three times. His body is fecked.

He’s a victim.
He’s a victim of this clubs failure over h the e past decade. If he had come through the ranks in any other era, he would have been just another academy graduate who made a few appearances for the club and sold a few years down the line, like a Frazier Campbell or at most a Welbeck.

But this club failure has created a situation where we elevate an academy graduate far beyond his talent and what he can mentally handle to such an extent he’s one of the best paid players in the league.
If Rashford is your talisman, you’re not going anywhere.

He can’t cope.

So why did you expect an electric performance?

I'm not sure we are getting much more then £30m for him, which gers you a Zirksee standard striker!

Still, not a reason to keep as he simply doesn't fit in Amorim's system. But our front 4 (Hojland, Rashford, Garnacho, Amad/Bruno) don't have goals in them and our midfield can't create the chances, so we're a but stuck in this limbo of 0/+1 GD for the whole season.

His form and workrate for 18 months has been diabolical yet somehow he starts and plays every single game. Have the club been stupid enough to include a playing time clause in his contract?

At least he is getting subbed off regularly though

Even if Rashfords effort improved 100% I’m not convinced he’s much use to the team anymore without his blistering pace.

I want someone in the media to ask Amorim "he doesn't play or even get in the squad for England anymore. Why does he deserve to start for Manchester United?"

He's so so bad. But we've seen it for years now. What on earth does INEOS or any of the new guys see in him?

If his effort improved 100% he’d still only be at about 6% effort.

Had a chance to impress a new manager today and still stropped around the field for 60 minutes. Would be very happy if we could somehow feck him off

It's sad that it's got to his stage, but I get really angry watching Rashford in a United shirt.

An early goal in a different position in the very first game under a new coach. The perfect confidence booster you would think, but he completely reverted to type soon after. He's completely and utterly finished, and right now the ultimate personification of the sickness at this club.

This is quite correct. All he ever had was pace and even then he didn't know how to use it correctly.

His body wasn't fecked just over 2 years ago, when he had the best purple patch of his career under ETH. Nothing has happened him injury wise since then, and he's only 27. He's lost pace certainly but I think he's just not bothered enough to adapt and put the work in to reinvent himself. His attitude and mentality has always been a major problem.

Garnacho did pass. Defender blocked it. Should have passed it a step earlier. From the position he was in he should have tried for a shot himself or fake the pass to create a pass opening.

Absolutely vile player. Scored and then basically gave up for the rest of the game.
The fact Amorim started him tells me his reputation around Europe is still intact. It’s needs dismantling asap. Garbage professional.

How can this mirage continue to exist as a professional footballer?

He was basically lucky to be on the end of a great Amad assist, then for the rest of the game reduced us to 10 vs 11 plus the referee

I wouldn't say intact but he's one of a couple of players that have scored a lot in the past. Amorim will try to get him back but I think our manager will know soon whether he's really up to it or should be moved on.

Rashford was really good for ETH and seemed very happy for about 6-8 months, for the last 18 months it's like the one we saw under Ole/Ralf season.

This is exactly why I think we can get around 50-60m for him.

It’s the whole Rocky 3 scenario. Rashford has lost the eye of the tiger. He scored 30 goals a couple of seasons back, he’s got it in him to score goals at this level. He just doesn’t look like he wants it anymore.

He needs to be sold. He doesn’t look interested in being a footballer these days.

No club on the planet will pay that plus a £200k+ a week salary.

We’ll either need to sell him for £20-£30 million or be stuck with him until his contract expires.

Players like Rashford and Lingard don't measure success by trophies won. They consider themselves the 0.001% and they believe they are elite already.
Rashford has never experienced a title chase and probably isn't too bothered about it. We have had at least a dozen players like him over the last 10 years who have utterly failed to progress or create a hunger for success while demanding everything be given by themselves and their team mates on the pitch.
They've all been happy to just cruise along knowing that failure is inconsequential. Rashford, De Gea, Martial, Shaw, McTominay and others never seemed to want to silence their critics or try to fight and breed a winning culture like others before them. We get our arses handed to us on a regular basis regardless of the result.
We all felt the same at some point that Ragnick was right in some aspects. For too long we have just stacked shit sandwiches on top of old shit sandwiches. A clean break over the next few windows to purge some stupid mistakes within the squad seems inevitable. Everything looks like it is in place to really fix this broken club. This season should now be considered as a blank canvas.
