What’s with the PR spinning interview of him on the website today? For him to give that interview they know he was nothing near good enough last season and the fans are on their last tether.

let’s hope his actions match his words.

Hope he can recover his form, he was looking absolutely mint prior to his back injury.

He was scoring goals, other than that he still left a lot to be desired. He just didn't get the goals to mask it last season.

Hopefully he will get back amongst the goals and it pick up and turn it up a notch or 10 from last year. The time for excuses is well and truly over.

Short memory, he was fantastic.

If Ten Hag can unlock the best versions of Rashford and Sancho, United will be very exciting

Wishing for the best this season

If he can bang in 20+ goals then ten hag can polish turd.

I wouldn't bet on it though.

Well if Rashford can return to form then there's hope you can return to being a decent poster as well

C'mon Marcus, the only way is up.

Not a fan of this kind of speculation but maybe getting engaged to the girl he apparently had a rocky relationship with when his form went to shit will help things.

Short memory, he was fantastic.

Nope, he was relatively poor for the 2 seasons before last, but scored or was involved in goals that took away from what were very poor displays. Last season, he was just as poor but didn't have the goal involvement to cover it.

Jesus what a load of bollocks.

Not at all. Skip back through his performance threads for those seasons and see he was viewed. Better still, go back and watch some of the games.

Like I said, I hope he can get back amongst the goals and also put in performances to go with it. The time for excuses for him is over.

I watch EVERY game thank you and have done for 30 years.

In 2019-2020 he scored 22 goals in 44 United appearances and 4 in 7 England appearances but according to yourself was just as poor as last season when he wasn't even trying.

Maybe i should read through his performance threads like you said to get a better understanding from experts such as yourself.

Maybe you should. You might learn a thing or two. Things like, goal stats not telling the whole story about a players performances. Ronaldo scored a lot of goals last season, but he was gash for a good chunk of it, and was fairly anonymous out of possesion for most of it.

I just hope Rashford can improve on both his goal output and general play. If he can, then he can be a very good player. If not then, he has no more excuses left.

Whatever mate, you clearly don't know what you're on about.

He has never been fantastic. His goals have always masked his poor performances overall as the previous poster said.

Disagree, his form prior to his back break was fantastic.

It's easy for everyone to say Rashford is shit after last season.

The guy has never been able to beat a man or pick a pass consistently. He has never been anywhere near “fantastic” as you say.

Polar opposite of Welbeck whose overall play was fantastic but couldn’t score to save his life. If Rashford isn’t scoring he’s useless.

It’s wake up time for Marcus. In at £6.5 million in the new FPL prices (the same as Welbeck). His stock is at an all time low and I am sure he knows it.

My main worry with him was that he didn’t look bothered last year. He would turn his back on loose balls. It was more than just a loss of form. It was a complete lack of effort or confidence, for whatever reason.

He will never be a top, top player. He just doesn’t have the technique, but he is strong, has bags of pace and he can finish. That combination can be as exciting to watch as any on his day.

Ten Hag need to work on his decisions though, because they have always been extremely poor. I hope he is up for proving everyone wrong under a new coach.

He seemed genuinely excited, rested and motivated in the interview
The question I suppose is whether his back injury is fully healed and it hasn't limited him as a player going forward

Christ!

The entire course of his career is depending on how he does this season, I feel.

There's a player in there, at least there was... time for actions and not words from him. Hope he can do it.

He was awful this past season and pretty underwhelming the season prior, despite the impressive goal talley. However, he was very good in 2019-20 up until he got injured. He was a bit off the pace during the whole project restart thing, but still had his moments. My issue is that I find it very hard to forgive the tangible lack of effort that was on display this past season. Martial gets slated for such things, but what I saw from Rashford was far worse (that moment where he didn't even bother to follow up on the rebound from Greenwood's shot...)

Unable to beat a man? Very good memories of when he beat the shit out of White twice when he was at Brighton and gave TAA nightmares on numerous occasions. But none of this ever happened according to yourself? Odd how people post their opinions as a 100% fact when there’s so much evidence to prove otherwise.

New thread, same old pattern. Welbeck, short term memory and somehow rewriting his 2019-20 season too.

Your coming up with a few occasions doesn’t exactly show that he has ever been able to beat his man consistently.

You claiming what is, but not backing it up with anything worthwhile doesn’t exactly give your opinion much weight. On form Marcus beats his man on a consistent basis, please feel free to prove otherwise. He was shite last season, but some are making out he’s never been good, which is wrong.

The New and Improved Rashford is what I hope to see from him this season, I have high hopes for him, even though I was extremely disappointed with him last year, I am willing to keep an open mind about him.

The only thing he has ever done consistently with the ball is run straight into his defender(s). I don’t need to prove it. I’ve been watching it for years now. Posting random Youtube videos proves nothing.

Here’s some stats to prove you need your eyes testing.

The arrogance displayed by some with the oh I don’t need to prove anything, sheesh, what a load of tosh.

I have never even heard of these sites and they are certainly not reputable. Fbref has much different and not surprisingly much lower stats for Rashford in the successful dribble column, whatever that means. I have always found it a bizarre stat no matter who is reporting it though. One with far too much room for interpretation. Is it successful if a player just manages to keep the ball long enough to attempt a daft cross or pass or shot ? Or if a player keeps the ball long enough running into blind alleys before losing it ?

Probably a discussion for another thread. But the point remains that I don’t think the stat is one to put much stock in or that it proves Rashford has ever been able to consistently beat defenders.

So prove your theory right. Pretty obvious you’re very bias, so find something to back up what you’re saying, other than I’ve watched him so I must be right.

Who needs to watch a player to tell how good he is? Very time consuming. Just look online after, save at least 90 minutes and can squeeze in more free time

How else does one formulate an opinion aside from watching a player ? I am not biased. I am a Manchester United fan. So naturally I am not a fan of any player who stinks it up for large periods while inexplicably keeping his place in the team. Because how does that benefit Manchester United ?

Make or break season for him. I hope he proves the doubters wrong, me included.

Wtf this guy must has started watching United since last season. He was fantastic before his injury. Don't rewrite history to serve your agenda ffs.

Ah the old a forward's poor performances masked by goals and assists.

Personally, I hope he gets back to the poor performances where he's scoring over 20 goals a season and chipping in with assists.
