Cafu linked with Man Utd and Gunners

Brazilian right back Cafu is expected to turn out in the Premiership next season.

United are expected to swoop to bring two or three Brazilians to Old Trafford, and Cafu is the latest big name to be targeted.

Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos have already been mentioned as possible Man Utd signings, but the north west club will face stiff competition from Arsenal for Cafu’s signature.

Cafu the latest Brazilian in Man Utd link

AS Roma fullback Cafu has emerged as a target for Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Fergie is tipped to bring at least one of Brazil's World Cup stars to Old Trafford for the new season and has identified Cafu, along with Paris Saint Germain attacker, Ronaldinho as his prime targets.

The Manchester Evening News reported yesterday that rumour has been growing rapidly in the city that United's link-up with Nike, which becomes official in August, could be kicked off in spectacular fashion with a big-name arrival.

The sportswear company sponsor Brazil and that has sparked speculation that a big name from Brazil's world champions is on his way to United.

a bit young though isn't he? maybe we should go for someone a little older than him.

AS Roma fight to keep Cafu

Manchester United and Arsenal both want World Cup winning Brazilian captain Cafu to move to England.

The AS Roma right back had an offer to join Chelsea last year with a new contract now on offer from the Italian side after he played in his third World Cup final on Sunday equalling Pele's record.

Roma president Franco Sensi wants to keep Cafu at the club where he has spent the last six years and has made an improved contract offer to the defender to try and keep him away from English interest.

To be honest, i don't give this story much credibility, I think that either Ronaldo or Ronaldinho are the only likely Brazilians to join us next season.

The priority in defence is the centre not the flanks, plus Cafu is 32 now, but then again SAF did really really, want Lizarazu last season, so who knows.

But hey anyone with a name like Evangelista is worth signing, for the megastore spelling practise if anything! :D
