I'll say this now, this lad has massive potential and will be a future England international for sure. Pure class the lad and if he progresses in the right way a move to a top team will be certain. Very impressed with him tonight and generrally this season.

He's been good but I don't get excited when I watch him play for some reason. Seems a bit one dimensional.

Yup good player :

Will never be a world-beater in my opinion but he works hard, keeps it simple and can clip in a delightful cross. I like him alot.

Poor when he has time to think, good crosser when he's under pressure and just has to hit the ball in early.

Dunno about that, his ball for Clarke to make it 3-3 against the chavs was excellent and he had all the time in the world to make that particular choice...

His crossing is exceptional. Have seen him put in some delightful balls over he course of this season.

Thought his crossing was poor tonight in comparison to the rest of the season but his energy and work rate was very, very good.

I'd love to see him at United if available for a decent price and then see how he develops!!

Looks very promising BUT so have a lot of youngsters with similar potential

Didn't expect him to progress as far as he would this season, after seeing him take apart Fabio last season in the reserves i thought he looked a real prospect. But i didn't see him being a first team regular this season.

How old is he?

Considering this is his first season any criticism seems a tad harsh to me considering how well he's done this season

he is 21, he has a great attitude and will obviously develop, england are in desperate need of quality on the wings and at aston villa they have two very promising ones in Young and Albrighton

Looks like a top talent dug out of nowhere for them (don't follow Villa's youth much myself). If he had a foreign name and was playing abroad then the papers would do going to town in their gossips sections about him, who he'd be joining etc.

You get ones like Lennon and Walcott who are fast but can't cross half the time, yet he looks like he has some creativity in him. Gay spelling of his Christian name though.

Good crosser, sheer pace, fantastic work rate. But still has a lot to learn, sometimes a bit like a headless chicken.

I've been extremely impressed several times this year. It's the typical thing - overrating English players with pace - but he looks to have a decent touch and works his socks off, I think he's a good little player.

He's good, plenty of potential for the next few years but I wasnt impressed with him today. Wasteful

I'm at Birmingham Uni and thus know a fair few Villa fans, who all seem to rave about him. He seems to have a great work rate, a good attitude, good pace, quick feet and the ability to consistently produce accurate crosses. If he keeps his head down and his feet on the ground, he could go really far.

That’s a lovely retirement message, very classy. All the best to him after a great career.

Thread started in 2011.

Nothing for 13 years.

Then bumped for his retirement in 2024.

Almost like he never existed.

Fitting tribute would be to never let this thread reach page 2.

Edit: I'm now the only poster in history with multiple posts in the Marc Albrighton thread.

He used to be very good for Leicester for a good period of time.
He was extremely solid for Leicester & alway gave his all in every game played. He was a free transfer from Villa so great value.
