Jones unfortunate to miss out here after a great first month to the season.

I think Mkhi doesn't get the credit he deserves, IMO he was comfortably better and more crucial to our wins than Pogba, and perhaps Matić too.

I don't think he came close to Matic; possibly Pogba, although I think Pogba was more impressive. I'd probably have Jones in the 3rd spot.

Matic deserves it (imo) because his presence allows our attacking minded players more freedom to express themselves, and takes some of the burden off our defenders.

Mikhitaryan, Pogba, Jones et al have put in amazing performances. While Matic's performance could have (and probably will in the future,) go unnoticed or be taken for granted, I think he deserves recognition now for highlighting how much difference a good DMF makes and how long it's been since we've had one.

The brilliant thing is that there's a genuine argument to be made for four, five maybe even more players to be considered the best if the month. We've started really well.

Wonderful to not have DDG as a banker for top spot

Unfair for Lukaku to not be in that list. With the threat he poses, he is the player most responsible for the difference between last year's football and this year's football.

Added ManUtd.com player of the month to the OP. Pogba won both player of the month and goal of the month.

Was thinking the same, so many transfer windows closed and the fact we kept DDG was huge, not so much this window. I mean he's obviously world class and impossible to replace but he's no longer dragging us over the lines in tough games. Was similar last season but purchasing Matic and Jones' renaissance so far this season has left him as a spectator for most of our games.

No Zlatan had a similar impact last year, we've traded up for sure but I don't think he's been the key, Matic has tightened up midfield, which alleviates pressure on defence and frees up Pogba.

It is a hard one, to pick 3....

Mkhi with 5 assists...Matic, controlling midfield,,, Pogba supplying the Ammo,, Lukaku scoring the goals... Martial coming back to his own.. Jones, and Bailly,, a tower of strength at the back.....

We are spoiled for choice now, But My 3 would be :-

1. Matic,, as I feel he is the one who has changed our play this season..

2. Lukaku,, as he will score the goals for us, and change last season's draws into wins...

3. Mkhi,, as he will finish as assist king of the Premiership, this season, and add more goals himself

Fair enough, I agree Matic is key. But if you saw some of the preseason games, we were already playing with speed and power. And Lukaku's introduction, his movement, and his physicality threatens defenses and opens up space for other players. I love Zlatan, but he doesn't have much mobility and we don't seem to play as attractive a football with him versus Lukaku. So all I'm saying is Lukaku should be top 3 for his influence on our overall play.

Nice work @roonster09

Strange to see De Gea only made once in top 3, considering our defence record and his great form this season. I guess the reason is that his brilliant performances go under usual and expected after all this time.

It's because outfield players are doing better than DDG.
It's no coincidence that before Jose arrived, DDG was our best player (constantly making game changing saves and getting POTY 3 years in a row, I think it was), but now, it is our attack minded players who are getting the plaudits, because DDG is not required to make those game changing saves in every match, in the same way he did, when LVG was our manager.

They arent still. DDG is still better but we prefer outfield players to win such prizes. Martial, Lukaku, Matic, Rashford, Bailly, Jones all havent been as consistent and consistently good as DDG but still quite good so they will get the plaudits. DDG is our best and most consistent player by decent margin.

Young ahead of Smalling is ridiculous.

No players have been outstanding though. Rashford would be my pick Liverpool and Chelsea game few players did well. Same with Huddersfield game so the cup games would be the main source of judgement. Rashford though played well against Benfica, good sub against Huddersfield. Strong performance against both Swansea and Spurs as well so for that reason I would pick him.

Smalling second for me as he have done well in all games I think and our defense have been great. De Gea solid as we expect, but apart from the Liverpool game he have no done much, but he is number 3 since few other have had many good games.

Agree that he has less to do than during LVG time, but I'm even more impressed with him now as it's much tougher for a goalkeeper to have a very little job in the match and than pull out excellent save almost every game.
And when you look at the whole squad, he is still by far our most consistent player as @Sammyjunn said.
