Sassy Colin
Death or the gladioli!
Thought this should have its own thread rather than being buried in the Transfer Forum:
All the best.
All the best.
Worrying, how stringent were his medicals before this for it not to have been picked up?
Whilst glad it was found, how did a player manage a 15 year career, supposedly with stringent testing following the Foe and Puerta deaths, and it remain uncovered?
Are there any details on what heart condition he had? Either way, sad news for him but he's at least enjoyed a long career already. Best wishes to him.
We’re not quite sure what a ‘hypertophic cardiomyopothy’ is, but it doesn’t sound very nice. Indeed Cagliari president,Tommaso Giulini, is quoted as saying it’s the type of problem that without due caution can result in death.
The only sources I could find were a bit Mickey Mouse (Daily Fail being the most reliable one, so got this from Arseblog:

Is there a doctor in the house? @Pogue Mahone
Yeah my dad also has HCM which is why I was asking. He actually has a pacemaker & defibrillator installed in his chest which gives you an idea of the potential seriousness of the condition. I actually have to be tested for it every few years because of the potential hereditary nature of the disease. My Dad was diagnosed with HCM, although that diagnosis was later downgraded with 2nd and 3rd opinions. Managed to read quite a bit about it through the ordeal, and if Alumina has it he's definitely a making the right decision.
Sad to hear but at least it was discovered and he can manage it. Wasn't he being tipped for England no.1 at some stage?
